WHAT WE CALL “LITTLE” CAN BECOME YOUR VALLEY OF TEARS!
BASIC SCRIPTURE: GALATIANS 5:1-12
Vs. 9 of today’s scripture says: “A little leaven leaveth the whole lump.” Leaven is YEAST used in baking bread, etc. And the whole statement was a popular proverb among the Jews. A little portion of leaven, mixed with the batch, soon leavens the whole lump. The Holy Ghost wants you to know that any LITTLE excuse for something BAD will lead to something WORSE! A little excuse for why you could not pray yesterday or for why you could not read your Bible will lead you to the VALLEY of tears or the street called “HAD-I KNOWN.” There is a fine line between explaining the reason for something and using the reason as an excuse. When you start giving excuses for that SIN, it will become your BLOCKER to goodness and mercy! It will turn you into your own devil. A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump!
It spreads until it destroys the WHOLE LUMP! The little evil or sin you tolerate will end up consuming you! Dear pastor/elder, correct erring people as soon as you notice them! The little errors you OVERLOOK will become the BACKDOOR of your ministry. Few rebellious leaders if not checked early, can spread into a BIG REBELLION! Yes! The corrupting influence of one bad person can pull down great dreams! Little gossip not quickly addressed can stop the growth of any ministry, church, relationship, business, etc.
A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump! Dear child of God, correct yourself as soon as you notice that little PROCRASTINATION, MALICE, SEXUAL LUST, ANGER, UNFORGIVENESS, etc, creeping into your life.
