Some years ago, a young man called Danjuma Gyang, became a star that rose from obscurity to limelight in the West African region of Africa! Oh! His slim body provokes a pitiable look! But his appearance was deceptive when he ran the MTN Marathon race in Ibadan, Nigeria! Two notable features of that race were that he ran it with strapped slippers (not a canvas) and won with a time of l:12:57. Today that young man, who could not afford a canvas and who could not finish his primary school education because his parents were too poor to train him, has risen to national prominence! HE IS NOW AN INTERNATIONAL MARATHONER! He said he decided and determined long ago that none of his mates who continued with school, would be his superiors in life. Instead of lamenting his fate and wasting away in inferiority complex, he held on to life in athletics with rugged determination! Apart from determination, he said he had consistently trained in the afternoon when the sun was highest to enable him become tough! Today, through a very rough road, he is now a champion! God is speaking to you again to be ruggedly determined in your journey through life! Richard Devos said, “The only thing that stands between a man and what he wants from life is often merely the will to try it and the faith to believe that it is possible.” Nehemiah 4:6 says, “…and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof, for the people had a mind to work.” Failure is in your mind! Fortune is also in your mind! As a man thinketh, so is he! In this year 2026, guard your mind from self-pity, self condemnation, depression or discouragement! The God of Nehemiah is still alive! He needs your mind to win! Don’t forget this young man who trained – IN THE HOT SUN because he was determined to win! That’s the hidden secret of Champions! They don’t quit or run from difficulties!
