Topic: THE BARBER AND THE YOUNG BOY!

A young boy was at the barbershop for a haircut. The room was filled with cigar smoke. The lad pinched his nose and exclaimed, “Who’s been smoking in here?” The barber sheepishly confessed, “I have.” The boy responded, “Don’t you know it’s not good for you?” “I know,” the barber replied. “I’ve tried to quit a thousand times but I just can’t.” The boy commented, “I understand. I’ve tried to stop sucking my thumb, but I can’t quit either.” Wow! This is exactly the story of many today! Verses 15 and 19 of today’s scripture says: “For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.” Did you get that? Why would someone want to do good and cannot? Why do you struggle with that secret sinful lifestyle and habit even when you know that it’s not good for you? That’s why Paul had to cry out in today’s scripture, “O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?” (Romans 7 vs. 24). Following his agonizing question, he declared with triumph, “I thank God – through Jesus Christ our Lord” (v.25). Are you struggling to break some stubborn habits? Confidently affirm with Paul, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4: 13). In this 2nd half of 2026, determine to live HOLY! Close with Billy Graham – “Sin then is not a toy with which to play but a terror to be shunned.” I decree now: Any plan to make you live in SECRET SINS, let it scatter and backfire now! Pray seriously now! Catch this: Those that ridiculed you, will see your miracle in Jesus name! Live holy! Hold on and hold out! You will testify!

1. In your own words, pray about today’s word as led now.
2. LORD God; I decree that I shall not TOY with SIN. I shall not
   be overwhelmed today or this year! I receive GRACE to shun
   SIN as a terror (Pray it seriously now).
3. You power of SIN; what are you waiting for? Loose your grip
   over me now by fire (Pray it very well, seriously today).
4. I mention the following sinful lifestyles/secret sins/struggles
   now and cry out to the Lord for mercy NOW (Mention them
   and pray by force now! DECREE HOLINESS).
5. Pray about today and about any other issue(s) affecting your
   peace now
