TOPIC: WHILE THE CHILD WANTED TO UPROOT THE PULPIT! WOW!
Welcome to today’s devotion of divine warning. Listen: Righteousness and godliness do not pick their moments to manifest! They stand tall in every corner of life, whether in public or in private. You cannot fool God. The eyes of the LORD sees all. This is a warning to public showmen and hypocrites! It was after service one particular Sunday, that a child attempted to uproot the pulpit to take it home. Everybody watched him with shock. Usually, he understood not to go to the altar to play, as his father, the pastor of the church, had warned him strictly on numerous occasions. Suddenly he burst into tears while still trying to pull the altar. One of the ushers who had been busy stacking chairs, went to ask him what the problem was. To which the child replied, “I must take home the pulpit. My father (the pastor) is so good on the pulpit, but when he gets home, he is very wicked to me and my mother.” Ha! Ha! Ha! What a sad tale of hypocrites! They show godly character only when they are in church. Otherwise, they are tormentors. Are you like that preacher who is very righteous, decent and moral when on the pulpit? What you do in secret when nobody is watching has more relevance to your Christian life than what you do in public. C.S. Lewis said, “Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.” Enough of the foolishness of assuming that God cannot see you when you are not in His presence. He is everywhere at one time. He is fully in New York, as He is fully in Madagascar. He does not share Himself; He is fully there. Be wise in the Lord and do what is right, just and holy even when nobody is watching. May Satan not ACCUSE you of hypocrisy before the throne of grace! Our Daily Manna Worldwide 25th June 2026
