2 Chronicles 7:15-16
“Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place. For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that My name may be there forever, and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually.”

🔥 PRAYER COMMENTARY: THE REDEMPTION CITY OF GOD

Beloved, welcome to Day 16 of our fasting and prayers. Today, we turn our intercession toward a very specific and significant focus: The Redemption City of God.

This is not just any piece of land. This is a prophetic fulfillment. This is a divine assignment. This is a place where heaven touches earth, where miracles are routine, and where the name of the Lord is exalted.

🏛️ The Significance of the Redemption City

The Redemption Camp of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Nigeria, has become a spiritual landmark. What began as a wilderness has become a city. What was once known for criminal activity has become a place of worship. This transformation is not by human effort—it is by divine intervention.

God gave a promise to our Father in the Lord, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, that He would build a city for His name. Today, we are witnessing the fulfillment of that promise. But a city is not just buildings and roads. A city is people. A city is atmosphere. A city is presence. And the Redemption City must remain consecrated, holy, and set apart for God’s purposes.

📖 Understanding the Scriptures

2 Chronicles 7:15-16 – God’s promise to Solomon after the dedication of the temple. God declares that His eyes will be open and His ears attentive to prayers offered in that place. He has chosen and consecrated it for His name to be there forever. This is the scriptural foundation for praying over physical locations dedicated to God. The Redemption City is such a place—chosen, consecrated, and set apart for God’s name.

Leviticus 20:26 – The call to holiness and separation. God has set us apart from the nations to be His own. This applies to His people individually and collectively. The Redemption City must reflect this separation—distinct from the world, dedicated to God.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 – We are the temple of God. The Spirit dwells in us. This connects the physical city to the spiritual condition of its dwellers. If the people are holy, the city is holy. If the temple (our bodies) is defiled, the city is defiled.

Romans 12:1-2 – The call to present our bodies as living sacrifices and to be transformed by renewing our minds. This is the pathway to consecration. Not external compliance, but internal transformation.

🙏 Why Pray for the Redemption City?

1. It is a Place of Divine Appointment
Millions gather at the Redemption Camp for programs like the Holy Ghost Congress, monthly thanksgiving services, and special outreaches. When the city is holy, the atmosphere is charged, and miracles flow freely.

2. It is a Target of the Enemy
Any place where God’s presence is manifest becomes a target for satanic opposition. The enemy would love to defile, disrupt, or destroy what God is building. We must pray for protection.

3. It is a Model for Other Nations
The Redemption City is not just for Nigeria. It is a model for what God wants to do in other nations. As RCCG spreads globally, similar cities are being established. The success of the original impacts the reproductions.

4. It is a Heritage for Generations
This city is not just for us—it is for our children and grandchildren. We must pray that it remains holy, vibrant, and filled with God’s presence for generations to come.

🙏 EXPANDED PRAYER GUIDE FOR DAY 16

PRAYER POINT 1: THANKSGIVING FOR THE PROMISE FULFILLED

Father, we come before You with hearts overflowing with gratitude. We thank You for the promise You made to our father, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, concerning a city for Your name. We thank You that we are alive to see this promise fulfilled in our time and in our nation, Nigeria.

What a mighty God You are! You spoke and it came to pass. You promised and it was established. We give You all the glory, all the honour, and all the praise.

We thank You that the Redemption City stands as a testament to Your faithfulness. It declares to the nations that You are the God who keeps covenant. It proclaims to generations that what You promise, You perform.

Thank You, Father, for the Redemption City. Thank You for choosing Nigeria as the location for this divine assignment. Thank You for allowing us to be part of this great move.

PRAYER POINT 2: PRESERVATION AND HOLINESS

Father, according to Leviticus 11:44-45, You have commanded us to be holy because You are holy. We pray for the Redemption City—preserve it as a holy place. Let everyone who dwells in the city and everyone who visits the city encounter Your holiness.

Help the dwellers to live in obedience to Your Word. Help them to maintain purity in their conduct, their speech, and their worship. Let no form of worldliness take root in the city.

Help the visitors to come with reverent hearts. Let them not treat this sacred place as ordinary ground. Remove from every visitor the spirit of entertainment and replace it with the spirit of worship.

Preserve the city from the corruption that is in the world through lust. Let it remain set apart, distinct, and holy until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

PRAYER POINT 3-5: THANKSGIVING FOR MANIFEST POWER

Father, we thank You for bringing back the manifestation of Your power upon the Redemption City. We thank You for the season of RENEWED MIRACLES that is upon us.

We remember days gone by when signs and wonders were commonplace at the camp. We remember the blind seeing, the lame walking, the barren conceiving, and the dead being raised. Lord, do it again! Do greater works!

We thank You for the signs, wonders, and miracles that are daily being recorded on this campground. We thank You that the sick are healed, the oppressed are delivered, and the captives are set free.

Let the power of God increase in the Redemption City. Let no service pass without testimonies. Let no gathering end without someone’s story changing. Let the fame of Your power spread throughout the earth.

PRAYER POINT 6: FROM WILDERNESS TO HOLY CITY

Father, we thank You for transforming the wilderness. We remember what this land used to be—a place known for criminal activity, a hiding place for evildoers. But You have made it a holy city. You have turned the enemy’s stronghold into Your dwelling place.

We pray for grace to maintain the sanctity of the city. Let us never forget what You have done. Let us never take for granted the transformation You have wrought. Guard our hearts from complacency.

Help us to continually consecrate this city to You. Let every new development, every new building, every new road be dedicated to Your glory. Let the city grow not just in size, but in sanctity.

PRAYER POINT 7: RESISTING DEFILEMENT

Father, we rise up in resistance against every form of defilement in the Redemption City. We speak against illegal selling and renting of houses that exploits Your people. We speak against indecent dressing that dishonours Your presence. We speak against every commercial activity that prioritizes profit over purity.

Lord, let Your eyes be open and Your ears attentive to every prayer offered in this place. But let Your eyes also see every act of defilement. Let Your hand of judgment restrain every attempt to commercialize what You have consecrated.

Raise up watchmen on the walls of the city—people who will guard the sanctity of this place. Give the leadership wisdom to enforce standards that honour You.

We declare that the Redemption City shall not become like the world. It shall remain a city set on a hill whose light cannot be hidden.

PRAYER POINT 8: GRACE FOR SEPARATION

Father, grant us the grace to separate ourselves from worldly influences. Leviticus 20:26 declares that You have set us apart from the nations to be Your own. Help us to live in that reality.

Separate us from the love of money that corrupts.
Separate us from the lust of the flesh that defiles.
Separate us from the pride of life that exalts itself against You.
Separate us from the spirit of the age that opposes Your truth.

Let the Redemption City be known not for its size or its facilities, but for its separation unto God. Let it be a place where the world’s values are reversed and heaven’s values are embraced.

PRAYER POINT 9: PURIFYING THE TEMPLE – OUR HEARTS

Father, we recognize that the ultimate temple is not made with hands—it is our bodies. Before the city can be pure, our hearts must be pure. So we cry out with the psalmist:

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit.

Purify Your temple. Cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Wash us and we shall be whiter than snow. Let there be no hidden sin, no secret compromise, no allowed iniquity.

When the dwellers are pure, the city is pure. When the worshippers are holy, the sanctuary is holy. Begin with us, Lord.

PRAYER POINT 10: WALKING IN PURITY

Father, help us to walk in purity of heart, mind, and body. We honour Your presence within us. We acknowledge that we are the temple of the living God.

Guard our hearts from impure thoughts.
Guard our minds from impure imaginations.
Guard our bodies from impure actions.
Guard our lips from impure speech.

Let purity be the hallmark of every dweller in the Redemption City. Let it be said of us that we are a pure people serving a pure God.

PRAYER POINT 11: CONSECRATION FOR GLORY AND PURPOSE

Father, we ask that You consecrate this City and our lives for Your glory and purpose. Set us apart for Your exclusive use. Let nothing in us or in the city be used for common purposes.

Everything in this city—every building, every road, every facility—let it be consecrated for Your glory.
Every life in this city—every man, woman, and child—let them be consecrated for Your purpose.
Every activity in this city—every service, every program, every gathering—let it be consecrated for Your honour.

Let the glory of the Lord fill this city as the waters cover the sea. Let Your purpose be fulfilled in and through this place.

PRAYER POINT 12: SURRENDER AND CONSECRATION

Father, according to Romans 12:1-2, we present our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to You. This is our spiritual service of worship.

We surrender every area of our lives to Your control:
Our finances – they are Yours to use.
Our families – they are Yours to guide.
Our futures – they are Yours to direct.
Our gifts – they are Yours to deploy.
Our time – it is Yours to steward.

We refuse to be conformed to this world. We choose to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Let our lives prove what is good and acceptable and perfect in Your sight.

Consecrate us afresh, Lord. Take us and use us for Your glory.

PRAYER POINT 13: PROTECTION FROM HARM AND TERROR

Father, we pray for the physical protection of the Redemption City. Guard it from harm, from terrors, and from all forms of destruction.

Protect the city from fire outbreaks.
Protect the city from structural collapses.
Protect the city from criminal elements.
Protect the city from terrorist attacks.
Protect the city from natural disasters.
Protect the city from every evil imagination of the enemy.

Let Your angels encamp around this city. Let them guard every entrance and every exit. Let them watch over every gathering and every service. Let no evil befall us, nor any plague come near our dwelling.

PRAYER POINT 14: NO TOOL OF THE ENEMY

Father, we pray that no one—insider or outsider—becomes a tool in the hand of the enemy to operate against Your plan for the City.

Neutralize every internal agent of darkness. Expose every secret plot. Frustrate every hidden agenda. Let those who mean evil for the city be confused and confounded.

We pray for the leadership—give them discernment to recognize enemy strategies. Give them wisdom to respond appropriately. Give them courage to act decisively.

Let every plan formed against the Redemption City come to nothing. Let every tongue that rises against it in judgment be condemned.

PRAYER POINT 15: GRACE TO COOPERATE WITH LEADERSHIP

Father, grant us the grace to cooperate with our father in the Lord, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, and the entire leadership in the ongoing development and rebuilding of the City.

Remove every spirit of rebellion, criticism, and division. Help us to see the vision and run with it. Help us to support with our resources, our time, and our prayers.

Let there be unity of purpose among all stakeholders. Let there be harmony in execution. Let every project be completed successfully and on time.

We pray for the contractors, the workers, the planners—give them skill, integrity, and efficiency. Let the city be built to Your glory.

Father, we thank You for the privilege of praying for the Redemption City of God. We thank You for the vision You gave to our father, Pastor E.A. Adeboye. We thank You for the fulfillment we see with our eyes.

Now, Lord, we commit this city into Your hands. Preserve it. Protect it. Purify it. Empower it. Use it for Your glory.

Let every prayer offered in this place be answered. Let every miracle needed in this place be released. Let every visitor who comes to this place encounter Your presence and go home transformed.

We declare that the Redemption City shall stand forever as a testimony of Your faithfulness. It shall not be defiled. It shall not be destroyed. It shall not be deserted.

It shall be a city on a hill whose light cannot be hidden. It shall be a fountain of healing and deliverance. It shall be a headquarters of revival and awakening.
