Basic Scripture: Acts 12:1-10 (KJV – Full Text)

1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

Prayer Points (From the KJV Text):

1. For Protection from the “Herods” of This World:

   • O Lord, as Herod stretched forth his hands to vex the church, I plead the blood of Jesus against every power, policy, or person stretching forth their hand to afflict me, my family, or my church. Scatter their plans in the name of Jesus.

2. For Those Grieving & Under Attack:

   • Father, as the church mourned James and feared for Peter, comfort every believer grieving a loss or living under the threat of the enemy. Be their refuge and strengthen their faith.

3. For the Power of Persistent Prayer (v. 5):

   • Lord, activate in me the spirit of “prayer without ceasing.” Ignite my prayer life and unite Your church in fervent, specific, and faith-filled intercession for every impossible situation.

4. For Supernatural Peace in Crisis (v. 6):

   • Like Peter who slept peacefully between soldiers the night before his trial, grant me and my loved ones supernatural peace and rest in the midst of our greatest storms and most intimidating threats.

5. For Angelic Intervention & Chain-Breaking Power (v. 7):

   • Almighty God, send Your angel of deliverance into my prison! Let Your light shine in my darkness. Smote off every chain—spiritual, financial, emotional, and physical—in Jesus’ name.

6. For Obedience to Divine Instruction (v. 8-9):

   • As Peter girded himself and followed, give me the grace to quickly obey Your instructions, even when I am disoriented or feel I am seeing a vision. Let my steps be ordered by You.

7. For Open Doors & Supernatural Passage (v. 10):

   • I command every iron gate blocking my destiny, career, ministry, and breakthroughs to “open of his own accord” by the power of God! I decree a supernatural passage through every ward of opposition.

Declarations (Based on KJV):

1. I declare that my life is shielded from the pleasure of the enemy. No weapon formed against me shall prosper, for my vindication comes from the Lord.

2. I declare that the effective, fervent prayer of the righteous avails much in my life (James 5:16). Heaven is responding to my petitions now.

3. I declare that I sleep in divine peace even when chained by circumstances. My rest is in Christ, my deliverer.

4. I declare CHAIN-BREAKING MIRACLES over my life! Every chain of addiction, poverty, sickness, and fear is falling off my hands and feet now!

5. I declare that I hear and obey God’s specific instructions for my deliverance. I gird myself with strength and follow the leading of His Spirit.

6. I declare that barriers are automatic openers for my testimony. The iron gate that has held many back will open spontaneously for me.

7. I declare that the angel of the Lord encamps around me (Psalm 34:7), delivering me from all my fears and leading me into freedom.

Closing Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the powerful testimony of Your servant Peter. As I meditate on Your word this day, let the same miracle-working power that delivered him from prison activate in every area of my life where I need deliverance. From the place of ceaseless prayer, arise and scatter every Herod, break every chain, and open every gate. Let this day mark the beginning of my supernatural walk into freedom and destiny. I pray and declare all these in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Be strengthened in faith. Your deliverance is at hand!
