BASIC SCRIPTURE BIBLE READING 7th April 2026 PRAYER POINTS AND DECLARATIONS

ACTS 28:1-10 (KJV)

1 And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita.

2 And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.

3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

7 In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.

8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.

9 So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

10 Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary.

DECLARATIONS (Based on Acts 28:1-10 KJV)

(Speak these aloud in faith)

1. I declare that after every storm, after every shipwreck, God has an island of refuge for me. I will escape and find solid ground. My story does not end in the sea. (Acts 28:1)

2. I declare that even barbarous people will show me kindness when God commands it. He can turn the heart of any stranger to become my helper. (Acts 28:2)

3. I declare that the viper that comes out of the heat—the attack that rises from my very labor and service—will not destroy me. I will shake it off into the fire and feel no harm. *(Acts 28:3-5)*

4. I declare that the judgments of men mean nothing. They called me a murderer and then a god. I do not live by their opinions. I live by the word and protection of the living God. *(Acts 28:4-6)*

5. I declare that I will not swell, I will not fall down dead, I will not be consumed by the venom of the enemy. The serpent’s bite has no power over a child of God. (Acts 28:6)

6. I declare that I carry the presence of God that heals the sick. Wherever I go—whether in a shipwreck or on an island—healing follows. I am a carrier of divine health. *(Acts 28:8-9)*

7. I declare that fevers and bloody fluxes—every disease and affliction—must bow at the name of Jesus when I pray and lay on hands. (Acts 28:8)

8. I declare that my healing ministry is not limited to church buildings. In the house of Publius, in the marketplace, on the island, in the storm—I will heal the sick. *(Acts 28:7-9)*

9. I declare that after I bring healing and help to others, they will honour me with many honours. God will make even the heathen supply my necessities. (Acts 28:10)

10. I declare that I will not leave the island the same way I came. When I depart, I will be laded with things necessary. God will repay me for every kindness I have shown. (Acts 28:10)

PRAYER POINTS

1. Thank God for every unexpected refuge and kindness.

• *Father, I thank You that when I escape one storm, You have already prepared an island of refuge. Thank You for the barbarous people—the strangers, the unlikely helpers, the unexpected sources of kindness—that You have sent to kindle a fire for me in my cold season. I receive their help as from Your hand. (Acts 28:1-2)*

2. Pray for protection from the viper that rises from your own labor.

• Lord, Paul gathered sticks—innocent, necessary work—and a viper came out of the heat. I pray that every viper that rises from my honest labor, from my service, from my daily tasks—every hidden attack, every unexpected bite—shall not harm me. I shake it off in Jesus’ name. (Acts 28:3)

3. Pray against the venom of accusation and false judgment.

• *Father, the barbarians judged Paul wrongly: first as a murderer, then as a god. I pray against every false judgment spoken over my life. I reject the labels of men—whether they condemn me or exalt me falsely. I receive only what You say about me. Let their changing opinions not move my heart. (Acts 28:4-6)*

4. Declare that no venom shall have power over you.

• *Lord Jesus, You gave Your disciples power to take up serpents and to drink any deadly thing without harm. I declare that every venomous bite—whether physical sickness, spiritual attack, emotional poison, or verbal sting—shall not swell in me. I shall not fall down dead. I feel no harm. (Acts 28:5-6; Mark 16:18)*

5. Pray for the healing of the father of Publius (pray for leaders).

• Father, I lift up the leaders in my life—the Publius figures, the chief men, those in authority over me in family, church, government, and work. Where they are sick of fever or bloody flux (chronic issues, inflammation, bleeding), I pray that Paul’s prayer and touch will reach them. Heal them, Lord, and through their healing, open doors for revival. (Acts 28:8)

6. Pray for a healing anointing to flow through your hands.

• Lord, Paul entered in, prayed, laid hands on the sick, and healed them. I ask for that same apostolic healing anointing upon my life. Let fevers break when I pray. Let diseases flee when I lay on hands. Let not the gift of healing be only for pastors and evangelists—let it flow through every believer, including me. (Acts 28:8)

7. Pray for the sick in your island—your community, workplace, family.

• Father, after Publius was healed, others which had diseases in the island came and were healed. I pray for my own island—my neighborhood, my office, my school, my family. Let a wave of healing sweep through. Let the sick come. Let every disease bow. Let no sickness be too hard for You. (Acts 28:9)

8. Pray for divine provision and honor after service.

• Lord, when Paul served the island with healing, the people honoured him with many honours and laded him with necessary things. I pray that after I have served, after I have prayed, after I have given—You will move others to supply my needs. Let me not depart empty. Let honour and provision chase me down. (Acts 28:10)

9. Pray for those who have been shipwrecked—emotionally, financially, spiritually.

• *Father, many are like Paul—they have escaped the sea but are now cold, wet, and gathering sticks. I pray for every person who has survived a storm but is now fighting a viper. Reach them. Send kind people to kindle a fire for them. Let them shake off every attack and walk in healing and provision. (Acts 28:1-5)*

10. Pray for a change of minds—that skeptics may become believers.

• Lord, the barbarians changed their minds when they saw no harm come to Paul. I pray for the skeptics in my life—those who watch me, waiting for me to swell and fall. Let my testimony of protection and healing change their minds. Let them say, “Surely God is with this one.” Turn mockers into worshippers. (Acts 28:6)

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

I have escaped the sea. God has brought me to solid ground. Even in a strange land, He has kindled a fire for me. When the viper comes out of the heat and fastens on my hand, I will not fear. I shake it off into the fire and feel no harm. The judgments of men do not define me—I am not a murderer, nor am I a god. I am a child of the Most High. I carry healing in my hands. Fevers break. Diseases flee. When I depart from this island, I will be laded with necessary things. The arrow of deliverance has found its mark. Amen.
