Despite being falsely accused and imprisoned, Joseph remained steadfast in his trust in God. His unwavering commitment to righteousness positioned him for divine promotion later in life. Today’s devotion encourages us to stand firm in our values, resist temptation, and trust God’s plan—even when circumstances seem unfair.
Key Verses from Genesis 39:7-23
- Verse 9 (NKJV):
“There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”- Joseph’s response to Potiphar’s wife demonstrates his fear of God and refusal to compromise his morals.
- Verse 21 (NKJV):
“But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.”- Even in prison, God did not abandon Joseph. His presence brought favor and opened doors for future blessings.

“The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph’s authority, because the Lord was with him; and whatever he did, the Lord made it prosper.”- Joseph’s obedience and trust in God led to prosperity, even in difficult situations.

Father, I thank You for Your Word that reminds me of the importance of standing firm in my convictions. Like Joseph, help me to resist every form of temptation that seeks to derail my destiny. Lord, just as You gave Joseph favor in Potiphar’s house and in prison, I ask for supernatural favor in every area of my life. Closing Prayer
Lord, thank You for the example of Joseph—a man who trusted You even in adversity. As I meditate on Your Word today, strengthen my resolve to live a life pleasing to You. Help me to resist temptation, walk in integrity, and trust Your perfect plan for my life. Thank You for Your constant presence, favor, and guidance.
