Vs. 16 of today’s devotional says, “Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.” A palace is a place of luxury! Consider the iconic and luxury palaces like Buckingham Palace (UK), Palace of Versailles (France), Alhambra (Spain), Schönbrunn Palace (Austria), Neuschwanstein Castle (Germany), Topkapi Palace (Turkey), Potala Palace (China), Pena Palace (Portugal), Umaid Bhawan Palace (India), Qasr Al Watan (Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi), Dubai’s Jumeirah Zabeel Saray; Doha Royal Palace in Qatar, Saudi Arabia’s Al Yamamah Palace, etc. Esther was in a palace just like or even better than any of these ones! Yet on the day of her battle and challenges, she screamed: “FAST YE FOR ME, AND NEITHER EAT NOR DRINK THREE DAYS, NIGHT OR DAY.” Wow! That was a 3-day DRY FAST! She knew the secret of POWER which is higher than just SPEAKING THE WORD or PRAISE/WORSHIP, ETC. If Esther could fast, why can’t you?
