HOST BIOGRAPHY: PASTOR PAULA WHITE-CAIN

Paula Michelle White-Cain was born April 20, 1966 in Tupelo, Mississippi. Her early life was marked by deep pain—her parents divorced when she was five, her father died by suicide, her mother battled alcoholism, and she suffered sexual and physical abuse between the ages of six and thirteen. But God. In 1984, at Damascus Church of God in Maryland, she surrendered her life to Jesus Christ and soon after received a vision from God calling her to preach the gospel.

She has been married three times. Her first marriage to Dean Knight produced a son, Pastor Brad Knight. In 1990 she married Randy White, with whom she co-founded Without Walls International Church, which grew to claim 20,000 members and became the seventh largest church in America. After their divorce in 2007, she became senior pastor of New Destiny Christian Center in Apopka, Florida. In 2015, she married Jonathan Cain, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame keyboardist and songwriter for the band Journey, composer of iconic hits like “Don’t Stop Believin'” and “Faithfully.”

Today, Pastor Paula serves as President of Paula White Ministries, pastor of StoryLife Church, and overseer of City of Destiny. Her television program “Paula Today” reaches a potential audience of over 6 billion people across 195 countries. She is a bestselling author and has received numerous honors including the Rosa Parks Award, the Trumpet Award, and the Florida Governor’s Award for her response to the Pulse nightclub tragedy.

She has served as spiritual advisor to President Donald Trump since 2016, chaired his Evangelical Advisory Board, delivered the invocation at his first inauguration—becoming the first woman clergy to do so—and in February 2025 was appointed senior advisor to the White House Faith Office. She is also President of the National Faith Advisory Board, the largest collaboration of faith leaders in America.
