Commentary

Oh Lord, You are our only God. Not one of many. Not a god among gods. Not a God who competes for attention. You are the only God – the one true, living, sovereign, all-powerful God. And because You are the only God, You alone have the final verdict.

Let not man prevail against us. Man may rise against us – enemies, oppressors, competitors, accusers. But let them not prevail. They may have power, influence, resources, or connections – but they cannot prevail against the God we serve.

Let not negativity prevail against us. Negative words, negative thoughts, negative patterns – they may try to overwhelm us. But let them not prevail. They cannot withstand the fire of God. They cannot survive the mercy of God.

Let not wickedness prevail against us. Wickedness may be organised, powerful, and ancient – but let it not prevail. Wickedness has an expiration date. Mercy never expires. Wickedness may rule for a season, but mercy rules for eternity.

Oh Lord, show us Your mercy. Because mercy is the counterforce to everything that rises against us. Man cannot prevail against mercy. Negativity cannot stand against mercy. Wickedness cannot survive mercy.

Let Your verdict override every negative prediction. Every negative prediction spoken over your life – from doctors, from fortune tellers, from enemies, from your own fears – let mercy override it. God’s verdict is higher than any negative prediction. God’s verdict is final.

The anchor scripture is 2 Chronicles 14:11 – the prayer of King Asa. He cried out to the Lord: “It is nothing with Thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power.” Asa knew that God’s power is not limited by the size of the enemy or the weakness of the army. God can help with many or with few. Then Asa declared: “We rest on Thee, and in Thy name we go against this multitude.” Rest and action combined – trusting God, but advancing in faith. Then the cry: “Let not man prevail against Thee.” Asa understood that when man fights against the people of God, they are ultimately fighting against God Himself. And God will not lose.

The prophetic instructions include:

• Bring a symbol of what you do for a living – Your tools, instruments, or symbols of your work. Bring them to the altar of mercy.

Prayer 3: Father, let not negativity prevail against me. Every negative word spoken over me – let it fail. Every negative thought – let it be silenced. Negativity cannot stand against Your mercy. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 4: Father, let not wickedness prevail against me. Wickedness may rise, but mercy is higher. Wickedness may organise, but mercy overrules. Let wickedness be scattered. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 8: Father, I receive mercy that wipes bitter tears. Every tear I have cried – over loss, over betrayal, over disappointment – let mercy wipe them. Let me laugh again. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 9: Father, I receive mercy for thrones and crowns. Restore my royal authority. Let me sit where I ought to sit. Let me rule where I ought to rule. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 10: Father, I receive mercy for the hand of God. Let Your hand rest upon me – for miracles, for provision, for protection, for direction. Let Your hand be heavy upon my enemies and light upon my struggles. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 11: Father, I receive mercy for a new beginning. Let my past die. Let my future live. Let this day be the first day of my new season. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 12: Father, I receive mercy that clears stubborn challenges. Every problem that has refused to go – mercy removes it. Every sickness that has lingered – mercy heals it. Every debt that has remained – mercy cancels it. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 13: Father, I receive mercy for a rising. I have been down long enough. I have been low long enough. Mercy, raise me. Let me rise. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 14: Father, I receive mercy for transformation. Not just a change – a transformation. Let me become who You created me to be. Let me be transformed by Your mercy. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 15: Father, I receive mercy for my evidence. Let me see proof that You have answered me. Let me hold my testimony in my hands. I will not leave without evidence. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 16: Father, I receive mercy for results. Let my labour produce fruit. Let my prayers produce answers. Let my faith produce testimony. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 17: Father, I receive mercy for advancement. Move me forward. Promote me. Let me not be stuck. Let me advance in every area of my life. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 18: Father, I bring the symbol of my work to Your altar. (Hold up your tool or symbol). Bless the work of my hands. Let my profession be a platform for testimony. Let my labour be rewarded. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 19: Father, I bring every negative report to the altar of mercy. (Name your negative reports). I lay them at Your feet. Mercy, exchange these reports for testimonies. Let new reports be written. In Jesus’ name.
