TOPIC: HE WANTED FREE COFFEE! MERCY HAS LIMITS!

An elderly man visited a café. After drinking, he claimed he had already paid. The bartender sensed the old man probably did not have money. So the bartender acted forgetful and then allowed the old man to go. The old man thought he had fooled the bartender, so he went to his friend to inform him about what had happened. The friend then tried it too and got away with it. Soon, another friend followed, exploiting the bartender’s kindness. However, when the next friend tried the same trick, the bartender asked the security to arrest him, and made sure he paid for all the coffee his other friends had initially gotten for free! They never tried it again! Wow! Ecclesiastes 8:11 says, “Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.” Did you catch that? When people escape consequences repeatedly, they often become bolder in sin! But there comes a day when mercy steps aside and accountability speaks! Many believers are like the men at the café always trying to “outsmart” God because they believe He is merciful! The Bible warns in Galatians 6:7, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” Listen: I am led to scream this now: Delayed Consequences Are Not Cancelled Consequences! A wise believer does not test the limits of divine patience! Romans 6:1-2 asks, “Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?” No! No! No! Yes! You are not perfect, but FEAR GOD and determine to live right as much as you can in the midst of your human weaknesses! Don’t be the one GOD WILL USE AS AN EXAMPLE to teach others that MERCY HAS A LIMIT IN THE UNIVERSITY OF PATIENCE! Don’t allow God to use you to pay dearly for the secret sins of others like the 3rd friend that was caught! LEARN! Pray seriously now!
