TOPIC: THE LORD NEEDS YOUR BODY URGENTLY…
Welcome! If you are to carry out God’s will, it will be with your body. Every pastor has members who say, “I won’t be in the service next Sunday; we’ll be up at the lake, I have a business trip to catch up, I am preparing for crucial exams this week, etc, but I’ll be there in spirit.” Laughs! Unfortunately, the “spirit” will contribute nothing to the atmosphere of praise and worship! We also offer God our bodies as a response to His love! The brilliant surgeon, Dr. Paul Brand, in describing operations performed on the hand, said, “I don’t know of a single operation anyone has devised that has succeeded in improving a normal hand. It’s beautiful.” Wow! Offer Him not just your heart, but your hands, body, spirit, mind and your entire being! Never underestimate the importance of your body in the service of God. Let your daily cry be, “Lord, help me to offer my body unto You without spot, blemish and defilement!” No wonder verses 1 and 2 of today’s scripture says: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God…” Paul asks you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice because you cannot practically serve God or worship God without your body or PHYSICAL PRESENCE! Oh! That is why you must always remember this when you EAT WELL or DO SPORTS! God cannot use a DEAD BODY! One day, your BODY will go to dust and it will miss all earthly church services! So, let God use your voice, your legs, your hands, your gifts and talents now but keep them strong via physical exercise and eating healthily even as you avoid STRESS! Do regular, medical checks if you can! May God use your body to depopulate HELL! Pray seriously!
