TOPIC: THE YOUNG MINISTER WHO MISSED GOD!
A young minister who was also a professional in Lagos Nigeria, received a powerful vision from the Lord, “Leave your corporate job now, return to your hometown, and start a farm ministry. I will bless it abundantly!” He jumped up excited, shared it with prayer partners and family members. His prayer of direction for weeks had finally received a response from heaven. But watch what happened: Suddenly, excuses crept in like secret “snakes”- “Lord, let me save enough money first.” “Lord, the children’s school fees are piling up.” “Lord, the economy is tough, maybe next year when things stabilize.” “Lord, give me a sign again.” Months rolled into a full year! No action! No resignation letter! Then boom! Corporate downsizing hit like lightning. His department in the office or job he had was shut down overnight and his position terminated. As a matter of fact, there was no severance pay! The very piece of family land he was supposed to use for the farm had been sold off by relatives to a stranger while he was still, “praying about it.” Doors closed! Opportunity gone! He fell on his knees weeping, “Lord, why me? Why now?” And the still small voice of the Spirit answered sharply, “Delayed obedience is disobedience! Incomplete obedience is rebellion! Timing is everything with Me! I said NOW, not later!” No wonder Zino Claire quipped, “Delayed obedience does not preserve a promise; it endangers it.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 declares, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” God’s blessings are timed! The enemy loves “later!” It gives him time to steal, kill, and destroy the plan! It was because of delayed obedience that made the Israelites to wander in the wilderness for forty years. Ah! Catch this: Delay is a graveyard where destinies are buried! Heaven does not reward hesitation! The brother from our story delayed and lost the job, the land and the season! As 2026 ends and 2027 begins, take any action you are supposed to take after praying about it! Fear not! Move on!
