1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,
3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.

MESSAGE
Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? Jeremiah 32:27
God likes to ask questions, and we see several instances of this in the Bible. When He asks a question, however, it isn’t because He doesn’t know the answer, but because He wants to reveal something about Himself. God asked the question in the Scripture above because He wanted to let you know that He is unlimited.
The word ‘unlimited’ is a combination of two words: ‘un and ‘limited’. ‘Un’ is a prefix of Latin and Greek origin that simply means ‘not’, while to be limited is to be restricted. Therefore, when we say that God is unlimited, it means that He is sovereign and has absolutely no restrictions.
The devil limits people by placing an embargo on their lives that says, “Thus far can you go and no further.” For instance, if someone is lame, he or she might be able to crawl but cannot stand, walk, or run; hence, the fellow’s movement is limited. God is not limited and cannot be hindered; He cannot be stopped from doing what He wants. Our God, the I AM THAT I AM, cannot be limited by anyone or anything.
When God wants to work, no one can hinder Him; when He wants to create something, He can use what seems like nothing to produce a masterpiece. When He saw how chaotic and dark the earth was in the beginning, He didn’t wring His hands in frustration and despair. Instead, He said, “Let there be Light!” (Genesis 1:3). As thick as the darkness was, it fled at the sound of God’s voice. Whenever opposing forces gather, He who sits in the heavens laughs because His unlimited power can be displayed without question (Psalm 2:1-4).
In today’s Bible reading, we see how the nations and heathen kings gathered to oppose God, but in the end, they failed. When the enemy stacks one opposition after another against you, that is time to laugh because you have a Father who is truly unlimited. If you call on His name and put your total trust in Him, He will work His wonders in your life, regardless of the nature of the opposition or the number enemies you might be facing. Beloved, you have no reason to be intimidated by the devil’s threats and obstacles that seem insurmountable; call on the One who is truly invincible, and you will overcome everything that stands in your way.
PRAYER POINT
Unlimited God, please help me to fight my battles and grant me victory on all sides, in Jesus’ name.

INTRODUCTION: The God Who Asks Questions
There is something profoundly comforting about a God who asks questions. Not because He lacks information—for He knows the end from the beginning—but because He desires that we come to a deeper understanding of who He is. In Jeremiah 32:27, God poses a question that reverberates through the corridors of time: “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?”
This question is not for God’s benefit. It is for ours. It is an invitation to recalibrate our thinking about the nature of the One we serve.
PART ONE: UNDERSTANDING THE UNLIMITED NATURE OF GOD
Pastor Adeboye begins by breaking down the word “unlimited” into its components: “un” meaning “not,” and “limited” meaning “restricted.” Therefore, an unlimited God is one who has absolutely no restrictions, no boundaries, no ceilings, and no impossibilities.
This stands in stark contrast to the human experience. We are limited by time, by space, by knowledge, by strength, by resources, and ultimately by mortality. But God exists outside all these constraints. He is not bound by the laws He created. He is not confined by the systems He established. He is not restricted by the circumstances that limit us.
The Sovereignty of God
When we speak of God as unlimited, we are speaking of His sovereignty—His absolute right and power to do whatever He pleases, whenever He pleases, however He pleases. Psalm 115:3 declares, “But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.” This is not the arbitrary exercise of power but the consistent expression of His perfect nature.
The devil, by contrast, is a master of limitation. Pastor Adeboye observes that the enemy places embargoes on lives, saying, “Thus far can you go and no further.” A lame person can crawl but cannot walk. A blind person can hear but cannot see. A barren woman can conceive in hope but not in reality. These are limitations imposed by the fall, enforced by the enemy, and accepted by humanity.
But God specialises in breaking limitations.
PART TWO: THE BIBLICAL EVIDENCE OF GOD’S UNLIMITED POWER
Creation Out of Chaos
The devotional points us to Genesis 1:2-3. The earth was without form, void, and darkness covered the deep. From a human perspective, this was a hopeless situation. There was no raw material to work with, no foundation to build upon, no light to see by. But God spoke: “Let there be light.” And light appeared.
This is the pattern of divine operation. God does not need favourable conditions to work. He creates favourable conditions by His word. He does not need existing materials to produce; He speaks and nothing becomes something. He does not need cooperation from circumstances; He commands and circumstances obey.
The Laughter of Heaven
Psalm 2 provides a dramatic picture of God’s response to human opposition. The kings of the earth set themselves against the Lord and His anointed. They conspire. They strategize. They imagine that their collective power can withstand divine purpose. But how does heaven respond?
“He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.” (Psalm 2:4)
God laughs. Not because He is cruel, but because the contrast is so absurd. Finite creatures conspiring against the Infinite. Mortal beings plotting against the Eternal. Created things rebelling against the Creator. The laughter of God is not mockery born of malice but the response of absolute confidence in His own unlimited nature.
Pastor Adeboye applies this directly to the believer: when the enemy stacks opposition against you, that is your moment to laugh. Not because the opposition is trivial, but because your God is unlimited. Not because the battle is small, but because the Battle-Giver is great.
PART THREE: THE IMPLICATIONS FOR BELIEVERS
No Reason for Intimidation
If God is truly unlimited, then no threat from the enemy should intimidate us. The size of the mountain becomes irrelevant when you serve the Mountain-Mover. The number of enemies becomes insignificant when you serve the Lord of Hosts. The complexity of the problem becomes secondary when you serve the God of all wisdom.
Pastor Adeboye writes: “Beloved, you have no reason to be intimidated by the devil’s threats and obstacles that seem insurmountable; call on the One who is truly invincible, and you will overcome everything that stands in your way.”
This is not denial of the reality of challenges. It is the assertion of a greater reality—the reality of an unlimited God.
The Call to Trust
The devotional concludes with an invitation to trust. The accompanying hymn, “‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus,” reinforces this theme. Trust is not passive resignation but active reliance. It is placing the weight of your life on the faithfulness of God. It is resting in His promises even when circumstances contradict them. It is believing that the unlimited God will act limitlessly on your behalf.
The prayer point captures this dependence: “Unlimited God, please help me to fight my battles and grant me victory on all sides, in Jesus’ name.”
Notice the balance: we ask for help, acknowledging our limitations. We ask for victory, believing in His power. We ask in Jesus’ name, recognising that all access to the unlimited God comes through the finished work of Christ.
PART FOUR: PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS FOR TODAY
Identify the Limitations
Take inventory of the areas where you feel limited. Where has the enemy placed an embargo on your life? Where have you accepted restrictions as permanent? Where have you stopped believing for breakthrough?
Declare the Unlimited God
Speak to those limitations. Command them to bow in the name of Jesus. Declare that the God who spoke light into darkness is speaking into your situation. Declare that the God who laughs at opposing kings is laughing at every conspiracy against you.
Expect the Unexpected
If God is unlimited, then He is not bound by your expectations. He may work in ways you did not anticipate, through channels you did not foresee, at times you did not predict. Stay open to the limitless creativity of an unlimited God.
Rest in His Sovereignty
Ultimately, peace comes not from understanding all things but from trusting the One who does. The unlimited God is also the loving Father. He who has the power to do all things also has the wisdom to do only what is best.
CONCLUSION: The God of All Flesh
The question God asked through Jeremiah remains: “Is there any thing too hard for me?” For the unlimited God, the answer is always no. No disease is too advanced. No situation is too complicated. No enemy is too powerful. No dream is too impossible.
As you go through this day, carry this truth in your heart: the God you serve has no limits. His power knows no boundaries. His love knows no end. His faithfulness knows no failure.
Trust Him. Call on Him. Rest in Him. And watch the unlimited God do what only He can do.
