And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.

And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.

And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.

Then spake the chief butler unto Pharaoh, saying, I do remember my faults this day:

Pharaoh was wroth with his servants, and put me in ward in the captain of the guard’s house, both me and the chief baker:

And we dreamed a dream in one night, I and he; we dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream.

And there was there with us a young man, an Hebrew, servant to the captain of the guard; and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams; to each man according to his dream he did interpret.

And it came to pass, as he interpreted to us, so it was; me he restored unto mine office, and him he hanged.

Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.

PRAYER POINTS

Father, I receive Your promise of restoration. Restore to me the years that the locust hath eaten — every wasted season, every stolen blessing. (Joel 2:25)

Lord, let me eat in plenty and be satisfied. Let me praise Your name for dealing wondrously with me. Let me never be ashamed. (Joel 2:26)

Father, let me know that You are in my midst — that You are the Lord my God, and none else. Let every doubt be silenced. (Joel 2:27)

Lord, like the chief butler, let me remember my faults no more. But let me also remember my Josephs — those whom God has placed in my path for my lifting. (Genesis 41:9)

Father, every dream and interpretation that has been forgotten in the palace, let it be remembered today. Let my testimony be brought before the king. (Genesis 41:9-13)

Lord, send for me hastily out of every dungeon. Let the call come suddenly. Let my change of raiment come without delay. (Genesis 41:14)

DECLARATIONS

I declare that the Lord restores to me the years that the locust hath eaten. Nothing is lost forever. Restoration is my portion.

I eat in plenty and am satisfied. I praise the name of the Lord who has dealt wondrously with me. I shall never be ashamed.

The Lord is in my midst. He is my God, and none else. I shall never be ashamed.

My faults are forgotten. But my Josephs are remembered. My testimony shall be brought before the king.

The dungeon cannot hold me forever. My appointed time has come. The call is coming hastily.

I shave off every mark of captivity. I change my prison garments for palace robes. I stand before Pharaoh.

The Butler’s Confession (Genesis 41:9):

“I do remember my faults this day.”

He did not say “I remember Joseph” — he said “I remember my faults.”

Sometimes your restoration comes when someone else remembers their failure, not your worth.

God used the butler’s guilt to unlock Joseph’s destiny.
The Word “Hastily” (Genesis 41:14):

Joseph was not brought out slowly or gradually.
-
He was brought out hastily — suddenly, urgently, without delay.
-
When God’s time comes, the dungeon door opens immediately.
The Shaving and Changing of Raiment:
-
Shaving = removing the marks of captivity (prisoners in Egypt had long hair and beards).
-
Changing raiment = leaving behind the identity of a prisoner.
-
You cannot stand before Pharaoh in prison clothes.
Question for the Day: Are you still in a dungeon season? Do not despair. The butler is about to remember. The call is coming hastily. Get ready to shave off the marks of captivity and change your raiment.
