24. And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.

BASIC SCRIPTURE: MARK 10:46-52 (KJV)

46. And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.

47. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

48. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

49. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.

50. And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.

51. And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

52. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, bring me to that place of solitude where I am left alone with You — no crowd, no distractions, no one but You and me. (Genesis 32:24)

2. Lord, I refuse to let You go until You bless me. Wrestle with me until my nature is changed and my name is rewritten. (Genesis 32:24)

3. Father, like blind Bartimaeus, give me a desperate faith that will not be silenced by the crowd or by those who charge me to hold my peace. (Mark 10:46-48)

4. Lord, I cry out to You today: Jesus, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. Let my cry stop You in Your tracks. (Mark 10:47-49)

5. Father, let every garment of shame, pity, and old identity be cast away as I rise and come to Jesus. (Mark 10:50)

6. Lord, when You ask me, “What wilt thou that I should do unto thee?” let me give a clear, bold, specific answer — not a vague prayer. (Mark 10:51)

7. Father, let my faith make me whole today. Not just healed, but whole — spirit, soul, and body. (Mark 10:52)

8. Lord, after I receive my miracle, let me follow Jesus in the way — not go my own way, but His way. (Mark 10:52)

DECLARATIONS

1. I declare that I am coming into my Jericho encounter. This is my day of visitation. Jesus is passing by.

2. I refuse to sit by the highway side begging any longer. Today, I cry out with a voice that heaven cannot ignore.

3. No crowd, no critic, no enemy shall charge me to hold my peace. I cry the more a great deal: Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!

4. Jesus stands still for me today. My cry has stopped the Master. He is calling for me.

5. I cast away every garment of blindness, shame, and hopelessness. I rise and come to Jesus.

6. I know what I want from the Lord. My prayer is clear, specific, and bold: Lord, that I might receive my sight.

7. My faith has made me whole. Immediately, I receive my sight. Immediately, my situation changes.

8. I will not go my own way after my miracle. I will follow Jesus in the way — all the way.

Two Encounters, One Principle:

The Power of Desperation:

• Jacob had to be left alone — no more schemes, no more family, no more props.

• Bartimaeus had to cast away his garment — the old identity of a blind beggar.

The Breaking of the Day:

• For Jacob, the wrestling lasted until daybreak.

• For Bartimaeus, the breakthrough came immediately.
