BASIC SCRIPTURE (KJV): EXODUS 2:11-25

11 And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.
12 And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.
13 And he went out the second day, and, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow?
14 And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.
15 Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.
16 Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father’s flock.
17 And the shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock.
18 And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that ye are come so soon to day?
19 And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock.
20 And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread.
21 And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.
22 And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.
23 And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.
24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
25 And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.

PRAYERS FOR MAY 10, 2025:

  1. Prayer for Divine Justice and Compassion
O Lord, You are the God who sees the suffering of Your people. Just as Moses intervened to protect his oppressed kin (Exodus 2:11-12), stir my heart to stand against injustice and defend the vulnerable. Teach me to act with courage when others turn a blind eye. Yet, remind me that human effort alone cannot deliver—only You can bring true liberation. When I see pain, let me not grow numb but intercede with faith. As You heard Israel’s groaning (v. 23), I pray for those trapped in modern-day bondage—addiction, poverty, or persecution. Awaken Your Church to be instruments of Your mercy, just as You raised up Moses in his time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
  2. Prayer for Trusting God’s Timing in Hidden Seasons
Heavenly Father, Moses’ exile in Midian seemed like failure, yet You were preparing him for leadership (Exodus 2:15-22). Today, I surrender my impatience and trust that You are at work even when I feel “a stranger in a strange land” (v. 22). Strengthen me during seasons of obscurity, knowing that You are refining my character and equipping me for purpose. When I question why delays persist, remind me that Your timing is perfect. Like Moses, use this time to teach me humility, patience, and dependence on You. Let every detour become a divine appointment. In Christ’s name, Amen.
  3. Prayer for Remembering God’s Covenant Love
Lord of Promises, even when Israel’s cries seemed unanswered, You remembered Your covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Exodus 2:24). Today, I cling to Your faithfulness. When I feel forgotten, remind me that You never forget Your children. Your covenant love transcends circumstances—You see my struggles, and You are moved with compassion. Just as You “looked upon the children of Israel” (v. 25), look upon me with favor. Let Your mercy and grace be my inheritance, and let my life declare Your goodness to future generations. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DAILY DECLARATION (May 10, 2025):

  • I stand against injustice, trusting God to empower my actions.
Inspired by Moses’ defense of the oppressed (Exodus 2:11-12), I declare that I will not remain silent in the face of cruelty or exploitation. Whether through advocacy, prayer, or tangible help, I will act as God’s hands and feet. I reject complacency and embrace the call to “defend the poor and fatherless” (Psalm 82:3). Even when my efforts seem small, I trust that God multiplies obedience. My strength comes from His Spirit, who equips me to confront darkness with truth and love.
  • I trust God’s purpose in seasons of obscurity.
Like Moses in Midian (Exodus 2:15-22), I declare that my hidden years are not wasted. Though I may feel “a stranger in a strange land” (v. 22), I trust that God is preparing me for divine assignments. Every mundane task, every quiet moment of surrender, is shaping me for His glory. I will not compare my journey to others’ timelines but will rest in His sovereignty. Just as He used Moses’ exile to teach humility and leadership, He uses my trials to refine my faith and align my heart with His will.
  • I am called to a greater purpose, even when it feels distant.
Moses’ life began with royal privilege, then detoured through exile—but God’s plan never changed (Acts 7:23-29). Today, I declare that my identity is not defined by past failures or present limitations. My purpose is secured in Christ, who calls me “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood” (1 Peter 2:9). Even when dreams seem delayed, I trust that God is orchestrating circumstances for His glory. My waiting is not passive—it is preparation for the supernatural.
  • I cry out to God, knowing He hears my groaning.
Just as Israel’s cries reached heaven (Exodus 2:23), I bring my deepest struggles to the Lord. Whether it’s grief, loneliness, or unmet needs, I declare that God is attentive to my voice. He does not despise my tears or dismiss my prayers (Psalm 56:8). I trust that His silence is not absence but the pause before His mighty intervention. Even when answers tarry, I will praise Him for His faithfulness, knowing that “He shall cry unto Me, Thou art my Father” (Psalm 89:26).
  • God remembers His covenant, and I stand on His promises.
Exodus 2:24 reminds me that God’s covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob was the foundation of Israel’s deliverance. Today, I declare that His New Covenant promises are my inheritance. Through Christ’s sacrifice, I am redeemed, healed, and accepted. No matter how dire my circumstances, I will not doubt His faithfulness. He who remembered Israel in Egypt remembers me now—His mercy endures forever. I reject fear and embrace hope, knowing that “the Lord hath appeared of old unto me” (Jeremiah 31:3).
  • I serve a God who sees and responds with compassion.
Exodus 2:25 declares, “God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.” Today, I proclaim that He sees me too. He sees my labor, my tears, and my devotion. He sees the battles I fight in secret and the victories only He can give. I trust that His gaze is not indifferent but filled with love. Just as He sent Moses to rescue Israel, He sends angels to minister to me (Hebrews 1:14) and opens doors only He can. His favor rests on me, and His plans for my good are unstoppable.
  • I live to declare God’s faithfulness to future generations.
Like Moses, who became a deliverer after years of preparation, I declare that my life will inspire others to trust God. I will share my testimonies of answered prayer, divine provision, and miraculous intervention.
