BASIC SCRIPTURE: Prayers and Declarations May 15 2025

BASIC SCRIPTURE (KJV):
JAMES 5:10-20
10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
12 But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
PRAYERS FOR MAY 15, 2025:
- Prayer for Endurance in Suffering and Trust in God’s Mercy
O Lord of Patience, You call us to follow the example of the prophets and Job, who endured suffering with steadfast faith (James 5:10-11). Today, I surrender my impatience and cry to You in every affliction. Strengthen my heart to trust Your “tender mercy” even when trials seem endless. Remind me that my endurance is not in vain, for You see my tears, hear my prayers, and will bring Your perfect end to my story. Like Job, let me declare, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him” (Job 13:15). Equip me to encourage others with hope, knowing that Your compassion outlasts every storm. In Jesus’ name, Amen. - Prayer for Healing, Confession, and Intercession
Heavenly Father, Your Word commands us to call for prayer and anointing when sick and to confess sins for healing (James 5:14-16). Today, I intercede for the broken, the weary, and the spiritually depleted. Send elders, prayer warriors, and servants of faith to lay hands on the hurting, anointing them with oil in Jesus’ name. Heal physical bodies, restore souls, and forgive sins through the blood of Christ. Break chains of secrecy and shame, and teach us to “confess faults one to another” in humility and love. Let my prayers be fervent, knowing that “the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” Raise up modern-day Elias-like intercessors to move mountains through faith. In Christ’s name, Amen. - Prayer for Restoring the Wandering and Guarding the Truth
Lord of Redemption, You charge us to seek out those who err from the truth and convert them (James 5:19-20). Equip me to restore the wandering with gentleness, not judgment. Let my words be seasoned with grace, my actions marked by love, and my motives pure. Raise up shepherds who will not abandon the lost but pursue them with divine urgency. Protect Your Church from deception and false teachings, and empower believers to guard the faith. Where sin abounds, let mercy abound more. Let every soul reclaimed glorify You, and let no one be lost to the enemy’s snares. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
DAILY DECLARATION (May 15, 2025):
- I endure suffering with patience, following the prophets’ example.
James 5:10 calls the prophets examples of “suffering affliction and patience.” Today, I declare that my trials are not wasted but purposeful. Like Jeremiah in the dungeon, Daniel in the lion’s den, or Paul in prison, I trust God’s refining fire. No matter how long the night, I will not grow bitter, for “we count them happy which endure” (v. 11). My patience is not passive resignation but active faith, anchored in the promise that the Lord’s mercy outlasts every storm. - I trust in God’s tender mercy, even when His ways are hidden.
James 5:11 assures us that the Lord is “very pitiful, and of tender mercy.” Today, I reject despair and cling to His compassion. Even when answers tarry, I trust that His silence is not absence but the pause before deliverance. Like Job, I know that “after my trial, I shall come forth as gold” (Job 23:10). His mercy is not limited by circumstances—it flows from the cross, where Christ bore my pain and purchased my healing.
