But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

PRAYER POINTS — TUESDAY, 29TH SEPTEMBER 2026

Father, help me to continue in the things I have learned and been assured of, knowing of whom I have learned them.

Lord, I thank You that from a child I have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make me wise unto salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

Father, I receive that all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness.

Lord, let Your Word make me perfect and throughly furnished unto all good works.

Father, let me not neglect the scriptures. Let me read them, study them, meditate on them, and obey them.

Lord, let Your testimonies be my guide. They are righteous and very faithful.

Father, help me to continue in Your Word, not just for a season, but for a lifetime.

Lord, let Your Word dwell richly in me, that I may be equipped for every good work.

I declare that I continue in the things I have learned and been assured of, knowing of whom I have learned them.

Key Verse (2 Timothy): 2 Timothy 3:16 — “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”
Key Verse (Psalm): Psalm 119:138 — “Thy testimonies that thou hast commanded are righteous and very faithful.”
Continue Thou (Verse 14):
Paul gives Timothy a charge. “Continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of.” Continue. Do not stop. Do not turn back. Do not give up. Do not abandon. Do not neglect. Do not forget. Keep going. Keep growing. Keep learning. Keep living. And he adds, “Knowing of whom thou hast learned them.” Timothy knew Paul. He knew his character. He knew his integrity. He knew his faithfulness. He knew his love. He knew his sacrifice. He knew his suffering. Timothy had learned from a trustworthy source. He had learned from a man of God. He had learned from an apostle. He had learned from a mentor. He had learned from a father in the faith.
From a Child (Verse 15):
Timothy had known the holy scriptures from a child. His mother and grandmother had taught him. Lois and Eunice had instructed him. They had planted the seed. They had laid the foundation. They had given him the Word. And the Word was able to make him wise unto salvation. The scriptures are powerful. They are effective. They are life-changing. They are soul-saving. They are able to make you wise. They are able to lead you to salvation. They are able to bring you to faith in Christ Jesus.
All Scripture Is Given by Inspiration of God (Verse 16):
All scripture is given by inspiration of God. It is breathed out by God. It is inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is the Word of God. It is not the word of men. It is not human invention. It is not human wisdom. It is divine revelation. It is God-breathed. It is God-inspired. It is God-given. And it is profitable. It is useful. It is beneficial. It is valuable. It is profitable for doctrine. For teaching. For instruction. For establishing truth. It is profitable for reproof. For conviction. For exposing sin. For pointing out error. It is profitable for correction. For setting right. For restoring. For fixing what is wrong. It is profitable for instruction in righteousness. For training in holiness. For teaching how to live. For equipping for obedience.
Perfect and Furnished (Verse 17):
The purpose of scripture is to make the man of God perfect. Not sinless. Not flawless. But complete. Mature. Whole. Fully developed. Fully equipped. Fully prepared. Throughly furnished unto all good works. Thoroughly equipped. Fully supplied. Completely ready. For every good work. The Word of God equips the believer for every task. For every calling. For every ministry. For every service. For every good work.
Righteous and Faithful (Psalm 119:138):
The psalmist declares that God’s testimonies are righteous and very faithful. They are right. They are just. They are true. They are reliable. They are trustworthy. They are dependable. They are faithful. God’s Word can be trusted. It can be relied upon. It can be depended upon. It will not fail. It will not change. It will not pass away.
Question for the Day — Tuesday, 29th September 2026:
Are you continuing in the things you have learned? Do you know the holy scriptures? Do you believe that all scripture is given by inspiration of God? Is the Word making you perfect and throughly furnished unto all good works? And do you trust that God’s testimonies are righteous and very faithful?
