INTRODUCTION: A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE
As the sun sets on August 31, 2026, we stand at the threshold of a new season—the final quarter of the year. Before we step into September, it is time to pause, reflect, and offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the God who has brought us this far.
The Psalmist declares: “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations” (Psalm 100:4-5).
This is not just a ritual; it is a spiritual principle. Thanksgiving unlocks the supernatural. Thanksgiving prepares the way for greater blessings. Thanksgiving silences the enemy and testifies to the goodness of God.
The end of the month is a significant time in the spirit realm. It is a moment to:
1. Look back and acknowledge what God has done.
2. Look forward and declare what He will do.
3. Lay down every burden, care, and worry at His feet.
4. Lift up praise, worship, and thanksgiving as a sweet aroma before His throne.
As we enter the last quarter of 2026, we do so not with fear or uncertainty, but with grateful hearts and confident faith. God has been faithful in the past, He is faithful in the present, and He will be faithful in the future.
Declare with us: “The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy!” (Psalm 126:3).
THE POWER OF THANKSGIVING
The Bible is filled with examples of thanksgiving releasing supernatural breakthroughs:
- When King Jehoshaphat faced a vast army, he appointed singers to praise the Lord. As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the enemy, and they were defeated (2 Chronicles 20:21-22).
- When Paul and Silas were in prison, they prayed and sang hymns to God. Suddenly, there was a great earthquake, the prison doors flew open, and their chains were loosed (Acts 16:25-26).
- When Jesus fed the five thousand, He gave thanks. That simple act of thanks caused the loaves and fish to multiply beyond measure (Matthew 14:19).
