Commentary
Today, 4th May 2026, Pastor Jerry Eze opens the NSPPD altar with a powerful revelation of El-Roi – the God who sees (Genesis 16:13). But today’s focus is not just on God seeing; it is on the good hand of El-Roi guiding your entire journey from the beginning of the year through to this fifth month, May.
The anchor scripture, Ezra 7:9, tells a remarkable story: Ezra began his journey from Babylon on the first day of the first month, and he arrived in Jerusalem on the first day of the fifth month. That is a four-month journey through dangerous terrain, through opposition, through uncertainty. Yet the Bible says he arrived “according to the good hand of his God upon him.” Not according to his strength, his strategy, or his connections – but according to the good hand of God.
Pastor Jerry is declaring that from January (the first month) until now (May, the fifth month), the same good hand that guided Ezra has been upon you. Every month you have crossed, every challenge you have survived, every door that opened – that was not luck. That was the good hand of El-Roi. And if His good hand has been upon you from January, then His good hand has already prevailed over May too. You are not entering May wondering what will happen; you are entering May with divine momentum.
The phrase “Your joy is full” is not an emotion – it is a declaration of completion. When joy is full, there is no room for sorrow, anxiety, or fear. This is what the good hand of God produces: not just survival, but full joy.
The prophetic lineup for today is significant. Operation Ephphatha (“Be opened”) – taken from Mark 7:34 where Jesus opened the ears and mouth of a deaf and mute man – is a prayer for access. Closed doors, blocked opportunities, sealed destinies – Ephphatha commands them to open. Operation Stop the Stoppers is the direct opposite: identifying and disabling anyone or anything that has been hindering your progress. The Special Prophetic Naming Ceremony aligns with the instruction to update your “New Name” list – because in Scripture, a name change signals a destiny change (Abram to Abraham, Jacob to Israel, Simon to Peter). You are not entering May with your old identity; you are receiving a new name that reflects what God is doing in this season.
The Covenant Day of Fasting (6am to 3pm) on this Monday is positioned to enforce these declarations – not just to pray, but to pray with power that stops stoppers and opens what has been closed.
