BASIC SCRIPTURE: EPHESIANS 3:14-20 (KJV)

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
-
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
-
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
-
May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
-
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
PRAYER POINTS

Father, I bow my knees before You, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom every family in heaven and earth is named.

DECLARATIONS

I declare that I bow my knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is my source, my provider, and my Father.

I am strengthened with might by the Spirit in my inner man. I am not weak. I am strong in the Lord.

Christ dwells in my heart by faith. He is at home in me. I am His dwelling place.

I am rooted and grounded in love. My foundation is the love of Christ, and it cannot be shaken.

I am able to comprehend the breadth, length, depth, and height of the love of Christ.

I know the love of Christ which passes knowledge. I experience what I cannot fully understand.
-
I am filled with all the fulness of God. I am complete in Christ.
-
God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all I ask or think. His power works in me, and nothing is impossible for Him.
ADDITIONAL REFLECTION
Key Verse: Ephesians 3:20 — “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”
The Posture of Prayer (Verse 14):
Paul says, “I bow my knees unto the Father.” Bowing the knees is a posture of humility, reverence, and submission. It is not just physical. It is spiritual. Paul is not just praying. He is worshipping. He is acknowledging the Father’s authority and goodness. He is placing himself under God’s care.
The Source of Every Family (Verse 15):
The Father is the source of every family in heaven and earth. Every family on earth derives its name and existence from Him. He is not just the Father of some. He is the Father of all. He is the ultimate source of every relationship, every lineage, and every household. Your family is named by Him. Your identity is rooted in Him.
The Riches of His Glory (Verse 16):
Paul prays that God would grant strength according to the riches of His glory. This is not a small supply. It is according to His riches — abundant, boundless, immeasurable. And this strength is given by His Spirit in the inner man. Not just physical strength, but spiritual strength. Strength for the soul. Strength for the heart. Strength for the spirit.
Christ Dwell in Your Hearts (Verse 17):
Paul prays that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith. To dwell means to be at home, to settle, to remain. Christ is not just a visitor. He is a resident. He makes His home in you. You are His habitation. And this happens by faith — not by feeling, not by works, but by trusting in Him.
Rooted and Grounded in Love (Verse 17):
Rooted is like a tree with deep roots. Grounded is like a building with a strong foundation. Both images speak of stability, depth, and permanence. Paul prays that you will be deeply established in love. Not a surface-level love, but a love that goes deep, that anchors you, that holds you steady when storms come.
Comprehending the Love of Christ (Verses 18-19):
Paul prays that you may be able to comprehend the breadth, length, depth, and height of Christ’s love. These dimensions suggest something immeasurable. It is wide enough to include everyone. It is long enough to last forever. It is deep enough to reach the worst sinner. It is high enough to lift you to heaven. And then he says, “to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge.” You can know what you cannot fully understand. You can experience what you cannot explain.
Filled With All the Fulness of God (Verse 19):
This is the ultimate goal. You are filled with all the fulness of God. Not just a portion. Not just a measure. All the fulness. The entire Godhead dwells in you bodily. You are complete in Him. You lack nothing. You are filled to overflowing.
Exceeding Abundantly Above (Verse 20):
Paul ends with a doxology. God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think. He does not just answer prayers. He exceeds them. He goes beyond them. He does more than you can imagine. And He does it according to the power that works in us. His power is already in you. He works through you. He works in you. And because of that, He can do the impossible.
Question for the Day:
Are you bowed before the Father? Are you being strengthened in your inner man? Is Christ at home in your heart? Are you rooted and grounded in love? And do you believe that God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all you can ask or think?
