Commentary
Today, Tuesday 12th May 2026, is Day 2 of the Furnace of Answers – the NSPPD Global Crusade. Yesterday, the fire fell. Today, the fire clears the way. And the specific target of today’s fire is every Goliath standing before you.
Pastor Jerry Eze draws from one of the most iconic battles in Scripture: David versus Goliath (1 Samuel 17). Goliath was not just a giant; he was a terrorizing system. He was nine feet tall. He wore armor that weighed 125 pounds. His spear had a shaft like a weaver’s beam. For forty days, morning and evening, he defied the armies of the living God. No one could stand against him. Saul and all Israel were dismayed and greatly afraid (1 Samuel 17:11). Goliath was not just an enemy; he was an impossible enemy.
But David came – not with armor, not with sword, not with spear – but with a sling, a stone, and the name of the Lord of hosts. And the Bible records one of the most decisive victories in history: “So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.”
Pastor Jerry is declaring that your Goliath’s time is up. That stubborn challenge that has defied every prayer, every fast, every intervention – its time is up. That strongman or strongwoman operating in your family lineage – their time is up. Those evil arrows that keep finding their mark – unexplained accidents, sudden sicknesses, mysterious losses – their time is up. That moving around in circles – the same problem repeating, the same disappointment recurring, the same cycle of failure – its time is up. That force that stops congratulations – the moment you are about to celebrate, something goes wrong – its time is up. That Goliath that says you would not cross this line – that limit, that barrier, that ceiling – its time is up. Those strongmen in the office – colleagues who block your promotion, supervisors who sabotage your work – their time is up. That Goliath of shame and disgrace – the family scandal, the public embarrassment, the reproach that follows you – its time is up.
The declaration is absolute: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. The battle line has been drawn. You are not negotiating. You are not managing. You are not coping. You are ending that rubbish – with holy anger. Holy anger is not the anger of the flesh; it is the righteous indignation of a child of God who has had enough of the enemy’s oppression. It is the anger that says, “I will not tolerate this any longer.” It is the anger that picks up the sling and runs toward the giant, not away from him.
The prophetic instruction is powerful: bring everything that looks like a Goliath with you to the altar of fire. Do not come vaguely. Come specifically. Name your Goliath. Write it down. Bring it to the fire. Whether it is a sickness, a debt, a marriage crisis, a stubborn child, a career blockage, a generational curse – bring that Goliath to the altar. The fire will not respect the giant. The fire will consume the giant.
And as you bring your Goliath, you are also to gather prayer requests from everyone you know. This is corporate warfare. Your Goliath may be personal, but the fire is corporate. Share the link. Share the prayers. Let others bring their Goliaths as well. Because when many Goliaths are brought to the same fire, the testimony is multiplied.
The closing declaration is a command: “FIRE, CLEAR THE WAY. GOLIATH HAS FALLEN.” You are not asking fire to clear the way; you are commanding it. And you are not hoping that Goliath will fall; you are declaring that he has fallen – past tense, already done in the spirit, waiting to manifest in the physical.
Today, Goliath falls. Fire clears the way. Enough is enough.
