TOPIC: YOUR FOCUS DETERMINES YOUR FLIGHT!
Joanie Yoder told the story of how one summer afternoon, she climbed a hill near her home. When she got to the top, she stretched out on the grass to relax. Turning her head to one side, her eyes focused on some blades of grass within inches of her face. This short range focus not only strained her eyes, but also blurred her view of anything beyond the end of her nose. So, she began to adjust her focus, and then the distant city came into view instead. Hence, she found that she could shift her sight from near to far at will. The choice was hers! That is the truth of life! What you focus on, determines how far you go in life and ministry! Vs. 2 of today’s word says, “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” And what the Holy Ghost is saying to a user of today’s devotional is, “YOUR FOCUS DETERMINES YOUR FLIGHT.” That means if you focus on making Heaven, you are most likely to get there. As 2026 marches on, set your mind on things that push you to Heaven. Yes, set your mind on forgiveness, holiness, daily Bible study and your daily quiet time, etc, Do all you can to defocus your mind from YOUR PAST ERRORS! Don’t succumb to fleshly, earth-bound thoughts that blur your view of heavenly things, YOUR FUTURE, goals and vision! Hear Mike Hawkins, “You don’t get results by focusing on results! You get results by focusing on the actions that produce results.” Only the mind set on things above can say, “NO” to sin and “YES” to holiness! The choice is yours. Hold on and Hold out! Heaven at last!
