And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch forth thine hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.

And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the LORD rained hail upon the land of Egypt.

So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.

And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field.

PRAYER POINTS

Father, let me live in Goshen — in the place of Your protection, where the judgments of the world do not reach me.
-
Lord, when You send hail and fire upon the earth, let me be sheltered in the secret place of Your presence.

Father, I thank You that You distinguish between Your people and the world. Let me always be counted among those whom You protect.
-
Lord, I pray for the land of Egypt around me — every system of the world that opposes You — let Your judgments fall and let it be humbled.
-
Father, as Moses stretched forth his rod, let me stretch forth the authority You have given me to release Your power on earth.
-
Lord, let the hail of Your judgment break every tree of pride, every false doctrine, and every work of the enemy in my life.

Father, I thank You that though Moses died, You buried him with Your own hand. Let me be buried by You, not forgotten by You.

Lord, let my death and my burial be in Your hands. Let me not be defined by human burial but by Your divine care.
DECLARATIONS
-
I declare that I live in Goshen. The judgments of God do not touch me. I am sheltered under His wings.

When hail and fire fall upon the earth, I am protected. The Lord distinguishes between me and the world.

I am counted among God’s people. His judgment passes over me, and I am safe.

I stretch forth the authority God has given me. I release His power on earth and stand against the works of the enemy.

The hail of God’s judgment breaks every prideful tree in my life. Every false doctrine is destroyed.

Though Moses died, God buried him. God’s hand is upon my life and my death.

I am not defined by human burial but by divine care. God knows where I am, and He will not forget me.

My life and my legacy are in the hands of the Lord. He will bury me, and He will remember me.
ADDITIONAL REFLECTION

Key Verse (Deuteronomy): Deuteronomy 34:6 — “And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Bethpeor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day.”
The Hail and the Fire (Exodus 9:22-24):
The Lord sent the seventh plague upon Egypt — hail mingled with fire, so grievous that there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. The hail struck everything in the field — man, beast, herb, and tree. It was a judgment of devastating power. Pharaoh had refused to let Israel go, and God was breaking his pride one plague at a time.
The Distinction (Exodus 9:26):
But there was one place where the hail did not fall — the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel lived. God made a distinction between His people and the Egyptians. While the world suffered judgment, Israel was protected. While Pharaoh’s kingdom was broken, God’s people were safe. This is a pattern throughout Scripture. God knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation and to reserve the unjust for punishment. The judgment that falls on the world does not fall on His people.
The Rod and the Authority (Exodus 9:22-23):
Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven, and the Lord sent thunder and hail. The rod was a symbol of God’s authority. Moses acted in obedience, and heaven responded. You have been given authority in Christ. When you stretch forth your hand in faith, God acts. The enemy is defeated. The world is judged. The power of God is released.
Goshen and the Promise:
Goshen was not a coincidence. It was a place of provision, protection, and purpose. It was where God’s people lived. It was where the presence of God dwelt. The world outside was in chaos, but inside Goshen, there was peace. You are in Goshen today. You are in the world, but you are not of the world. The hail does not touch you. The fire does not burn you. You are separated unto God.
The Burial of Moses (Deuteronomy 34:6):
Moses died on Mount Nebo. God showed him the promised land, and then He buried him in a valley. No man knows where Moses is buried to this day. This is a mystery. God buried His servant. He did not leave him to the hands of men. He took care of him to the very end. The secrecy of the burial prevents idolatry. Moses was not to be worshipped. He was to be remembered, but not adored. Only God is worshipped.
The Death of a Servant:
Moses died, but his work continued. Joshua took his place. The people crossed the Jordan. The promise was fulfilled. Moses did not see the fulfillment, but he saw it with his eyes from the mountain. He accepted God’s will and died in peace. His death was as honourable as his life.
The Hand of God in Death:
God buried Moses. This is a powerful image. The God who led Israel out of Egypt also buried His servant. He is with you in life, and He is with you in death. He does not abandon you when you die. He takes care of your burial. He knows where your sepulchre is, even if no one else does. You are never out of His hands.
Question for the Day:
Are you living in Goshen, protected by God’s presence, or are you still in Egypt, exposed to the judgment of the world? And do you trust God to be with you not only in life but also in death — to bury you and remember you forever?
