BASIC SCRIPTURE: MARK 4:35-41

35. And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.

36. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

37. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

38. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

39. And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

41. And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, when You say “Let us pass over unto the other side,” let me not be afraid of the storm that comes in between. Your command guarantees my arrival. (Mark 4:35)

2. Lord, even when the storm arises and the waves beat into my ship, let me remember that You are in the boat with me. (Mark 4:37-38)

3. Father, forgive me for the times I have accused You: “Master, carest thou not that we perish?” Help me to know that You always care. (Mark 4:38)

4. Lord, arise in my situation today. Rebuke every wind that is contrary to Your purpose for my life. (Mark 4:39)

5. Father, speak to my sea: “Peace, be still.” Let every raging storm in my life — finances, health, family, ministry — cease now. (Mark 4:39)

6. Lord, increase my faith. Deliver me from the fear that comes when I look at the storm instead of the Saviour. (Mark 4:40)

7. Father, let me fear exceedingly — not because of the storm, but because I see what manner of Man is with me in the ship. (Mark 4:41)

8. Lord, let every wind and sea in my life obey Your voice. Let there be a great calm where there has been great turmoil. (Mark 4:39, 41)

DECLARATIONS

1. I declare that Jesus Himself said, “Let us pass over unto the other side.” If He said it, I will make it. No storm shall sink me.

2. The storm may arise, but the Saviour is in my ship. I am not alone in this battle.

3. I refuse to ask, “Carest thou not that I perish?” My God cares for me. He has not forgotten me in the storm.

4. Jesus arises in my situation right now. He rebukes the wind. He says to my sea, “Peace, be still.”

5. The wind ceases. The waves stop. There is a great calm in my life — in my mind, my body, my home, my finances.

6. I will not be fearful. I have faith in the One who commands the wind and the sea.

7. I fear exceedingly — with holy awe — because I know what manner of Man is with me. He is the Lord of the storm.

8. The wind and the sea obey Him. And because He is with me, they shall obey His voice in my life.

ADDITIONAL REFLECTION

Key Verse: Mark 4:39 — “And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”

The Question Jesus Asks:

• “Why are ye so fearful?” — Not because storms are not real, but because faith should be greater.

• “How is it that ye have no faith?” — They had Jesus in the boat. That should have been enough.

“Other Little Ships” (Verse 36):

• Jesus was not alone in the storm. There were other little ships.

• Your storm is not unique. Others are passing through the same waters.

• But note: the Bible does not say what happened to the other little ships. Focus on the ship Jesus is in.

Question for the Day: Is Jesus asleep in your boat right now? Do not mistake His silence for His absence. He will arise at the right time.
