BASIC SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 6: 25-34

BASIC SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 6:25–34 (KJV)

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, forgive me for every time I have allowed anxiety and worry to dominate my heart instead of trusting Your Word. (Based on v. 25)

2. Lord, help me to fully believe that my life is more than food and my body more than clothing. Teach me to value spiritual things above material needs. (Based on v. 25)

3. Father, open my eyes to see how You faithfully provide for the birds of the air, and help me to trust that I am much more valuable to You. (Based on v. 26)

4. I renounce every spirit of fear and anxiety about the future. I break the power of worrying over finances, health, and provision, in Jesus’ name. (Based on v. 27, 34)

5. Lord, clothe me with Your righteousness and give me grace to trust Your divine provision as You clothe the lilies of the field. (Based on v. 28–30)

6. Father, uproot every “Gentile” (worldly) mindset in me that runs after material things. Help me to rest in the fact that You know my needs. (Based on v. 31–32)

7. Give me the grace to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness above every other pursuit, this day and every day. (Based on v. 33)

8. Lord, grant me peace for today and deliver me from tormenting thoughts about tomorrow. Help me to live one day at a time in Your presence. (Based on v. 34)

DECLARATIONS

(Speak these aloud in faith)

1. I declare that I will not live my life in anxiety over food, drink, or clothing, because my life is securely hidden in Christ.

2. I declare that just as God feeds the birds of the air, He is supplying all my needs according to His riches in glory.

3. I declare that worrying adds nothing to my life; therefore, I refuse to waste my energy on fear. My trust is in the Lord.

4. I declare that I am more valuable than the lilies, and God clothes me with honor, provision, and His righteousness.

5. I declare that I am not a Gentile who runs after things; my Heavenly Father knows what I need before I ask.

6. I declare that today I am seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and every single thing I need is being added unto me.

7. I declare that I will not borrow trouble from tomorrow. Today’s grace is sufficient for me, and God goes before me into every future day.

8. I declare that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, keeps my heart and mind safe in Christ Jesus. Amen.
