BASIC SCRIPTURES: EXODUS 13:17 – 22 JOHN 16:33
2 February 2026 – Basic Scripture Bible Reading
BASIC SCRIPTURES:
Exodus 13:17-22 (KJV)
¹⁷ And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:
¹⁸ But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.
¹⁹ And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.
²⁰ And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness.
²¹ And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:
²² He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
John 16:33 (KJV)
³³ These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

CENTRAL LESSON:
Divine Guidance Through Inevitable Struggle. God sometimes leads us on longer, wilderness routes (Exodus 13:17-18) to protect us from battles we’re not yet ready to face, while promising His constant presence (pillar of cloud/fire). Jesus confirms that tribulation is part of our world-journey, but in Him we have peace and overcoming power (John 16:33). The lesson: Trust God’s routing even through wilderness seasons; His presence guarantees peace and ultimate victory.
PRAYER POINTS & DECLARATIONS:
-
PRAYER TO TRUST GOD’S DETOURS
“Father, I trust Your routing for my life. Even when the path seems longer or through wilderness, I believe You are protecting me from what I cannot yet handle. I submit to Your navigation.”
DECLARATION: I am not lost; I am led. God’s detour is my divine protection. I walk the path He has ordained. -
PRAYER AGAINST THE SPIRIT OF REGRET & RETURN
“Break every impulse to ‘return to Egypt’ when I face difficulty. When the journey gets hard, seal my heart to the past and fix my eyes on the promise ahead.”
DECLARATION: No looking back! I will not repent of my deliverance. My future is greater than my past comforts. -
PRAYER FOR THE CLOUD & FIRE PRESENCE
“Lord, manifest Your guiding presence in my life—as a cloud for direction by day and fire for light and warmth by night. Never remove Your tangible presence from me.”
DECLARATION: The Lord goes before me. By day and by night, His presence leads, protects, and comforts me. -
PRAYER TO CARRY THE “BONES OF JOSEPH” (GOD’S OLD PROMISES)
“Like Moses carried Joseph’s bones, I carry every unfulfilled promise You’ve spoken over my life. I will not bury them in the wilderness; I carry them to their destined fulfillment.”
DECLARATION: Every God-given dream and promise travels with me. What God swore, He will surely perform. -
PRAYER FOR PEACE IN WORLD-TRIBULATION
“Jesus, You warned of tribulation. I claim the peace You give that surpasses circumstance. Let Your peace garrison my heart and mind right now.”
DECLARATION: In the world I have tribulation, but IN CHRIST I have perfect peace. I am of good cheer! -
PRAYER TO WALK “HARNESSED” (PREPARED & ARMED)
“Clothe me with spiritual armor for the wilderness journey. Let me go up ‘harnessed’—prepared, armed, and ready for the tests ahead, yet trusting in Your strength.”
DECLARATION: I am equipped and armed by God for this journey. I am not a vulnerable refugee; I am a prepared pilgrim. -
PRAYER FOR OVERCOMING CHEER
“Fill my spirit with overcoming cheer! Because You have overcome the world, I overcome every wilderness trial, every Red Sea obstacle, and every enemy confrontation.”
DECLARATION: I am of good cheer! Christ in me is the Overcomer. Therefore, I overcome every trial, fear, and obstacle.
KEY DECLARATION:
“Today, I trust God’s wilderness routing. His presence is my cloud and fire. I carry His promises with me. I have peace in tribulation and overcoming cheer, for Jesus has overcome the world for me!”
*”And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.” – Isaiah 58:11*
AMEN.
