BASIC SCRIPTURE: Prayers and Declarations May 6 2025

Prayer point for today

BASIC SCRIPTURE (KJV):
3 John 1:1-14
1 The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth.
2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
5 Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers;
6 Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well:
7 Because that for his name’s sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles.
8 We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth.
9 I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not.
10 Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.
11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
12 Demetrius hath good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we also bear record; and ye know that our record is true.
13 I had many things to write, but I will not with ink and pen write unto thee:
14 But I trust I shall shortly see thee, and we shall speak face to face. Peace be to thee. Our friends salute thee. Greet the friends by name.

BASIC SCRIPTURE: Prayers and Declarations May 6 2025

PRAYERS FOR MAY 6, 2025:

  1. Prayer for Walking in Truth and Love:
Lord, thank You for the example of Gaius, who walked in truth and showed hospitality to Your servants. Equip me to live faithfully, love others sacrificially, and support those who labor for the Gospel. Guard my heart against pride and division like Diotrephes. Let my life reflect Your truth and generosity. Amen.
  2. Prayer for Courage in Integrity:
Heavenly Father, just as You called Gaius to stand firm in goodness, strengthen my resolve to choose righteousness over compromise. Protect me from those who oppose Your work, and empower me to be a fellowhelper of the truth. Let my actions honor You always. Amen.

DAILY DECLARATION (May 6, 2025):

  • I walk in the truth of God’s Word, and my steps are ordered by the Lord.
Today, I declare that every decision, action, and thought is rooted in the unshakable foundation of Scripture. Just as Gaius was commended for walking in truth (3 John 1:3-4), I choose to align my life with God’s promises, wisdom, and principles. I reject relativism and compromise, for Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105). I trust that the Lord directs my journey, even when the way is unclear, knowing that His plans are perfect and His timing is divine.
  • I choose integrity in all I do, reflecting Christ’s righteousness.
Integrity is my standard because Christ, the Righteous One, lives in me. I refuse to cut corners, manipulate, or act deceitfully, for I am called to be blameless before God and humanity. Like Demetrius, whose life bore witness to the truth (3 John 1:12), I will live with honesty and transparency, allowing the Holy Spirit to purify my motives. I renounce hypocrisy and half-heartedness, for the Lord sees the heart (1 Samuel 16:7), and He equips me to walk uprightly in every situation.
  • I extend love and hospitality to His people, just as Gaius did.
Today, I open my heart and resources to serve fellow believers and strangers alike. Gaius showed extraordinary generosity to traveling missionaries (3 John 1:5-8), and I follow his example by supporting those who advance the Gospel. Whether through kindness, encouragement, or tangible help, I will be a channel of God’s love. I recognize that welcoming others is not a burden but a privilege—a way to partner with the Kingdom and reflect Christ’s sacrificial hospitality.
  • I reject pride, selfish ambition, and division—I am called to peace and unity.
The pride of Diotrephes, who loved preeminence and sowed discord (3 John 1:9-10), has no place in my life. Instead, I embrace humility, valuing others above myself (Philippians 2:3). I renounce selfish agendas and the desire for control, choosing instead to pursue peace and build up the body of Christ. Unity is my mission, for God is a God of order, not strife (1 Corinthians 14:33), and His Spirit empowers me to heal divides and foster harmony.
  • I am a fellowhelper of the truth, supporting the Gospel through actions, resources, and prayers.
My life is not my own—it is a tool for advancing God’s truth. Just as believers were instructed to “receive such [workers] that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth” (3 John 1:8), I commit to actively participating in the spread of the Gospel. I give generously, pray fervently, and use my gifts to empower others in ministry. Every act of service, no matter how small, is an offering to the Lord, and I trust Him to multiply my efforts for eternal impact.
  • I will not follow evil, for I am of God, and His light shines through me.
Evil has no dominion over me, for I am born of God and His Spirit dwells within (1 John 3:9). I reject sin, deception, and worldly patterns, choosing instead to walk in the light of Christ’s holiness. As 3 John 1:11 declares, “He who does good is of God,” and today I reaffirm my identity in Christ—the One who transforms my heart and empowers me to overcome darkness. Let His light radiate through my words, deeds, and attitudes, drawing others to His saving grace.
  • Every decision I make aligns with Christ’s righteousness.
From the smallest choices to the most significant crossroads, I submit my will to the Lord. I seek His wisdom through prayer and Scripture, ensuring that my steps reflect His justice, mercy, and love. No decision is neutral—each one either builds His Kingdom or hinders it. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I choose obedience over convenience, faith over fear, and righteousness over compromise, trusting that God’s ways are always perfect.
  • I trust God to prosper my soul, body, and spirit as I walk with Him.
The Lord’s promise in 3 John 1:2—“I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospers”—is my declaration today. As my soul thrives in His presence, I trust Him to sustain my physical health, mental clarity, and emotional well-being. I release anxiety about lack or failure, for my Provider is faithful. Every area of my life flourishes under His care, and I walk in gratitude for His abundant provision, strength, and peace.
  • I stand in courage, knowing He who began a good work in me will complete it.
Fear and doubt have no power over me, for the Lord is my strength and shield (Psalm 28:7). Like Gaius and Demetrius, whose faithfulness endured despite challenges, I press forward in confidence. Philippians 1:6 assures me that God will perfect His work in me, and I trust His timing and process. Even when trials arise, I remain steadfast, knowing that my perseverance honors Him and that His purpose for my life will surely come to pass.
  • I greet others with love and carry hope, for Christ dwells within me.
Today, I reflect the love of Christ to everyone I encounter. My words are seasoned with grace (Colossians 4:6), my actions are marked by compassion, and my presence brings encouragement. I carry the hope of the Gospel, knowing that Jesus lives in me and works through me. Whether greeting a stranger or embracing a friend, I let His light shine brightly, reminding the world that He is near, He is good, and He is love incarnate.
