BASIC SCRIPTURE: THURSDAY, 24TH SEPTEMBER 2026 — GENESIS 1:1-13 (KJV)

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

Father, I acknowledge You as the Creator of the heavens and the earth. You are the beginning of all things.

Lord, when my life is without form and void, let Your Spirit move upon me and bring order out of chaos.

Father, let there be light in every dark area of my life. Speak light into my situation and let it shine.

Lord, divide the light from the darkness in my life. Let me walk in the light and not in darkness.

Father, let Your firmament separate the waters. Let there be a clear distinction between the holy and the profane.

Lord, let the dry land appear in my life. Let foundations be established and let me stand on solid ground.

Father, let my life bring forth fruit after its kind. Let me be fruitful and multiply in every area.

Lord, let everything You have created in me be good. Let me fulfill the purpose for which You made me.

I declare that God is the Creator of the heavens and the earth. He is the beginning of all things.

In the Beginning God (Verse 1):
The Bible begins with God. Not with a philosophy. Not with a theory. Not with a question. Not with an argument. It begins with God. He is the starting point. He is the foundation. He is the source. He is the origin. He is the Creator. He created the heaven and the earth. He made everything out of nothing. He spoke, and it came into being. He commanded, and it stood fast. He is the Almighty. He is the Sovereign. He is the Lord. He is God.
Without Form and Void (Verse 2):
The earth was without form and void. It was empty. It was barren. It was chaotic. It was dark. It was shapeless. It was lifeless. It was unproductive. Darkness was upon the face of the deep. It was overwhelming. It was oppressive. It was total. But the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. He hovered. He brooded. He was present. He was active. He was preparing. He was ready to create. He was ready to transform. He was ready to bring order out of chaos. He was ready to bring light out of darkness. He was ready to bring life out of death.
Let There Be Light (Verse 3):
God spoke. “Let there be light.” And there was light. This is the first recorded words of God in Scripture. It is a command. It is a creative word. It is a powerful word. It is an effective word. It is an authoritative word. God spoke, and light came into existence. He did not struggle. He did not strain. He did not strive. He simply spoke. And it was so. Light dispels darkness. Light reveals. Light guides. Light gives life. Light is good. God saw the light, that it was good. He approved of it. He blessed it. He separated it from the darkness.
The First Day (Verses 4-5):
God divided the light from the darkness. He made a distinction. He separated them. He called the light Day. He called the darkness Night. There was evening and there was morning. The first day was complete. The first day was finished. The first day was good.
The Firmament (Verses 6-8):
God spoke again. “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters.” He made a firmament. He divided the waters. He separated the waters under the firmament from the waters above the firmament. He called the firmament Heaven. There was evening and there was morning. The second day was complete. The second day was finished.
The Dry Land and the Seas (Verses 9-10):
God spoke again. “Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so. The waters gathered. The dry land appeared. God called the dry land Earth. He called the gathering of the waters Seas. And God saw that it was good. He approved. He blessed. He was pleased.
The Fruitful Earth (Verses 11-13):
God spoke again. “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself.” And it was so. The earth brought forth grass. The herb yielded seed. The tree yielded fruit. Each after its kind. Each with its own seed. Each with its own purpose. Each with its own design. And God saw that it was good. There was evening and there was morning. The third day was complete. The third day was finished. The third day was good.
The Pattern of Creation:
God created by speaking. He did not struggle. He did not strive. He did not strain. He simply spoke. His word is powerful. His word is creative. His word is effective. His word is authoritative. He created in an orderly way. He created with purpose. He created with design. He created with intention. He created in six days. He rested on the seventh. He created everything good. He created everything for His glory.
Question for the Day — Thursday, 24th September 2026:
Do you acknowledge God as the Creator of all things? Is your life without form and void? Are you allowing the Spirit of God to move upon you and bring order out of chaos? Are you walking in the light or in darkness? And are you bearing fruit after your kind?
