BASIC SCRIPTURE: EPHESIANS 6:10-20

BASIC SCRIPTURE: EPHESIANS 6:10-20 (KJV)

10. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15. And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

19. And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

20. For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, strengthen me in the Lord and in the power of His might. Let me not be weak, but strong in You.

2. Lord, help me to put on the whole armour of God. Let me not be unprepared for the battle.

3. Father, I thank You that I wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual enemies. Let me not fight the wrong enemy.

4. Lord, I take the whole armour of God, that I may be able to withstand in the evil day.

5. Father, I gird my loins with truth. Let me walk in honesty and integrity.

6. Lord, I put on the breastplate of righteousness. Let my heart be protected by Your righteousness.

7. Father, I shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Let me be ready to share Your peace.

8. Lord, I take the shield of faith to quench every fiery dart of the wicked. I take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word.

DECLARATIONS

1. I declare that I am strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. I am not weak. I am empowered by God.

ADDITIONAL REFLECTION

Key Verse: Ephesians 6:11 — “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

Be Strong in the Lord (Verse 10):

Paul’s final exhortation is to be strong. But not in yourself. In the Lord. In the power of His might. Your strength is not enough. Your strength will fail. Your strength is limited. His strength is unlimited. His might is all-powerful. You must be strong in Him. You must rely on His power. You must draw from His strength.

The Whole Armour of God (Verse 11):

The armour is not partial. It is whole. It is complete. You cannot pick and choose. You cannot leave out a piece. You need every piece. The enemy attacks every part. You must protect every part. The whole armour is needed for the whole battle. Put it all on. Wear it all.

The Wiles of the Devil (Verse 11):

The devil has schemes. He has strategies. He has tricks. He is not just attacking openly. He is attacking subtly. He is deceiving. He is misleading. He is tempting. He is trapping. He is using wiles. You need the whole armour to stand against his schemes. You need truth to see through his lies. You need righteousness to resist his temptations. You need faith to quench his darts.

Spiritual Enemies (Verse 12):

Your enemies are not flesh and blood. They are not people. They are not human. They are spiritual. They are principalities. They are powers. They are rulers of darkness. They are spiritual wickedness in high places. You cannot fight them with carnal weapons. You cannot fight them with human strategies. You need spiritual weapons. You need the armour of God. You need the power of God.

The Evil Day (Verse 13):

There is an evil day. There is a day of testing. There is a day of battle. There is a day of darkness. You must be able to withstand. You must be able to stand firm. You must be able to hold your ground. And having done all, you must stand. You do not retreat. You do not surrender. You stand. You hold. You endure.

The Belt of Truth (Verse 14):

The belt holds everything together. Truth holds everything together. If you do not have truth, everything falls apart. Truth is the foundation of the armour. You must know the truth. You must believe the truth. You must live the truth. You must walk in truth.

The Breastplate of Righteousness (Verse 14):

The breastplate protects the heart. Righteousness protects the heart. Not your own righteousness. His righteousness. The righteousness of Christ. You wear it. It covers you. It protects you. It guards your heart from accusation, from guilt, from condemnation.

The Shoes of the Gospel of Peace (Verse 15):

Your feet are shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. You are ready to go. You are ready to stand. You are ready to fight. You are ready to share. The gospel of peace is your foundation. It is your footing. It is your stability.

The Shield of Faith (Verse 16):

Above all, take the shield of faith. Above all the rest. Faith is essential. Faith is primary. Faith quenches the fiery darts. The devil throws darts of doubt, of fear, of temptation, of accusation. Faith extinguishes them. Faith defends you. Faith protects you.

The Helmet of Salvation (Verse 17):

The helmet protects the head. Salvation protects the mind. You are saved. You belong to God. Your future is secure. Your destiny is certain. Your identity is in Christ. Wear it. Believe it. Live it.

The Sword of the Spirit (Verse 17):

The sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. It is the only offensive weapon. The other pieces are defensive. The sword is offensive. You attack with the Word. You fight with the Word. You overcome with the Word. The Word is your weapon. The Word is your power. The Word is your victory.

Praying Always (Verse 18):

Prayer is the atmosphere of the battle. It is not just one piece. It is the context. It is the environment. You put on the armour through prayer. You fight through prayer. You stand through prayer. You persevere through prayer. Pray always. Pray in the Spirit. Pray for all saints.

Have you put on the whole armour of God? Are you standing against the wiles of the devil? Are you fighting with the sword of the Spirit? And are you praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit?
