BASIC SCRIPTURE: PSALM 139: 4-18

PSALM 139:4-18 (KJV)

4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.

5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

DECLARATIONS (Based on Psalm 139:4-18 KJV)

(Speak these aloud in faith)

1. I declare that before a word is on my tongue, the Lord knows it altogether. I am fully known by God, and He still loves me. There is no hidden thought or secret motive that escapes His sight. (Psalm 139:4)

2. I declare that God has beset me behind and before. He goes before me to prepare the way, and He stands behind me as my rear guard. His hand is upon me right now. (Psalm 139:5)

3. I declare that I cannot flee from His Spirit. No matter where I go—heaven, hell, the farthest sea—He is there. I am never alone, never abandoned, never out of His reach. *(Psalm 139:7-10)*

4. I declare that even if darkness covers me, the night is light about me. Darkness does not hide me from God. He sees in the dark as clearly as in the day. *(Psalm 139:11-12)*

5. I declare that God has possessed my reins—my innermost being, my emotions, my depths. He has covered me in my mother’s womb. I was not an accident. I was planned, purposed, and protected before birth. (Psalm 139:13)

6. I declare that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I will not despise my body, my mind, or my destiny. The works of God are marvellous, and my soul knows it right well. (Psalm 139:14)

7. I declare that my substance was not hidden from God. When I was made in secret, when I was being curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth, His eyes saw me. (Psalm 139:15)

8. I declare that all my members were written in God’s book before any of them existed. My days were fashioned, my purpose was recorded, my future was known before I drew my first breath. (Psalm 139:16)

9. I declare that God’s thoughts toward me are precious and innumerable. They are more in number than the sand. I am constantly on His mind. *(Psalm 139:17-18)*

10. I declare that when I awake—whether from sleep, from trouble, from death, or from despair—I am still with Thee. I never fall out of His presence. I wake up in His arms. (Psalm 139:18)

PRAYER POINTS

1. Pray for the awareness that God knows every word before you speak it.

• Lord, You know every word on my tongue before I utter it. Forgive me for the words I have spoken carelessly, harshly, or falsely. Let my words be pleasing to You. Guard my mouth, and let me speak only what aligns with Your heart. (Psalm 139:4)

2. Pray for the covering of God’s hand upon you.

• Father, You have beset me behind and before. Your hand is upon me. I pray for Your hand of protection behind me—covering my past, my mistakes, my wounds. I pray for Your hand before me—opening doors, guiding my steps, preparing my future. Let me feel the weight of Your hand today. (Psalm 139:5)

3. Pray against the fear of abandonment or loneliness.

• *Lord, I can never flee from Your Spirit. Wherever I go—even to the darkest place, even to the depths of depression, even to the far country of sin—You are there. I renounce the lie that I am alone or forgotten. You are with me in heaven, in hell, and in the uttermost sea. (Psalm 139:7-10)*

4. Pray for light in the midst of darkness.

• *Father, when I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me,” You turn the night into light. I pray against every spiritual darkness that tries to hide me from Your presence. Let the night shine as the day over my situation. Let every hidden thing be illuminated by Your light. (Psalm 139:11-12)*

5. Thank God for covering you in the womb.

• Lord, thank You that You possessed my reins and covered me in my mother’s womb. Thank You that before I could speak, before I could choose, before I could sin—You were already watching over me. I bless You for the gift of my life, even if my beginning was difficult. You were there. (Psalm 139:13)

6. Declare that you are fearfully and wonderfully made—pray against self-rejection.

• *Father, I declare that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I renounce every spirit of self-hatred, body shame, identity confusion, and rejection of how You made me. I receive Your design. I receive my race, my body, my mind, my personality, and my gifts as marvellous works of Your hands. Help me to praise You for how You made me. (Psalm 139:14)*

7. Pray for revelation of your purpose written in God’s book.

• Lord, Your eyes saw my substance when I was yet unperfect. All my members were written in Your book before any of them existed. I ask You to reveal to me what is written in that book. Show me my purpose, my destiny, my assignment. Let me not live randomly but according to the blueprint You fashioned before I was born. (Psalm 139:16)

8. Pray for the precious thoughts of God toward you.

• Father, how precious are Your thoughts unto me! How great is the sum of them! I pray that You would let me know Your thoughts. Speak to me today. Let me not live as if You never think of me. Open my spiritual ears to hear what You are thinking about me, my family, my future, and my calling. (Psalm 139:17)

9. Pray for those who feel unformed, unworthy, or unwanted.

• *Lord, there are those who feel like their substance was hidden even from themselves. They feel unformed, unworthy, or unwanted. I pray for every person who has been told they were a mistake, every orphan, every abandoned child, every victim of abortion or neglect. Let them know that Your eyes saw them in the womb. Let them know they were curiously wrought by Your hands. Heal their identity wounds. (Psalm 139:13-16)*

10. Pray for the grace to awaken still with God.

• Lord, when I awake—from sleep, from sorrow, from backsliding, from the grave—I am still with Thee. I pray that every morning I wake up in Your presence. Do not let me drift away from You while I sleep. Let my first thought upon waking be of You. And when I awake from the sleep of death, let me open my eyes in Your presence forever. (Psalm 139:18)

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

The Lord knows every word before it is on my tongue. He has beset me behind and before. His hand is upon me. I cannot flee from His Spirit. If I ascend to heaven, He is there. If I make my bed in hell, behold, He is there. Even darkness is light to Him. He possessed my reins. He covered me in my mother’s womb. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. His works are marvellous, and my soul knows it right well. My substance was not hidden from Him. All my members were written in His book before any of them existed. How precious are His thoughts unto me! They are more than the sand. When I awake, I am still with Him. Amen.
