PSALM 113:1–9 (KJV)

1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD.

2 Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore.

3 From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’S name is to be praised.

4 The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.

5 Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high,

6 Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!

7 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;

8 That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.

9 He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD.

DEVOTIONAL REFLECTION

Psalm 113 is a psalm of praise that opens the “Hallel” (praise psalms) sung at Jewish festivals. It calls every servant of the Lord to praise His name continually—from sunrise to sunset. The psalm contrasts God’s transcendent glory (high above all nations and heavens) with His incredible humility (He stoops to behold heaven and earth). This same God specializes in reversing impossible situations: He raises the poor from the dust, lifts the needy from the ash heap, and gives the barren woman a house full of children. No situation is too low for His lifting power. Today, declare that your God is incomparable, and He is about to raise you.

PRAYER POINTS

(Based on Psalm 113:1–9)

1. Father, I praise Your holy name. I worship You as the LORD Most High, who is high above all nations and whose glory is above the heavens. (Psalm 113:1, 4)

2. Lord, I bless Your name from this time forth and forevermore. Let praise never cease from my lips. (Psalm 113:2)

3. From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, I declare that Your name alone shall be praised in my life, my family, and my home. (Psalm 113:3)

4. Lord, there is none like You. You dwell on high, yet You humble Yourself to behold the things in heaven and on earth. I worship Your majesty and Your mercy. (Psalm 113:5–6)

5. Father, raise me up from every dust of humiliation, failure, and rejection. Lift me out of every dunghill of shame, poverty, and disgrace. (Psalm 113:7)

6. Lord, set me among princes—among Your royal people. Let me sit where You have ordained me to sit, and let me walk in divine favor and promotion. (Psalm 113:8)

7. Father, every barren area of my life (spiritually, financially, maritally, ministerially) receive the life-giving power of God today. Make me a joyful mother or father of children—fruitful in every good work. (Psalm 113:9)

8. Lord, turn my mourning into dancing and my emptiness into a full house. Let me testify of Your power to reverse the irreversible. (Psalm 113:9)

9. Father, give me a heart of perpetual praise. Let me not wait for perfect circumstances before I praise You; let me praise You from the dust, knowing You will raise me. (Psalm 113:1)

10. Lord, I declare that You are my God, and there is no one like You. What no man can do, You will do for me. I praise You in advance for my lifting.

DECLARATIONS

1. I declare that the name of the LORD is blessed from this time forth and forevermore. I will praise Him all the days of my life.

2. I declare that from the rising of the sun to its going down, the LORD’s name is praised in my home, my work, and my testimony.

3. I declare that the LORD is high above all nations, and His glory is above the heavens. No power on earth is greater than my God.

4. I declare that there is none like the LORD my God. He dwells on high, yet He humbles Himself to care for me.

5. I declare that I am being raised out of the dust. Every situation that has brought me low is being overturned by the hand of God.

6. I declare that I am lifted from the dunghill of lack, rejection, and obscurity. God is setting me among princes.

7. I declare that every barren area of my life is now productive. I am a joyful mother/father of spiritual and physical fruitfulness.

8. I declare that my house is established by the Lord. I will not be childless in purpose, vision, or legacy.

9. I declare that I serve the God of the impossible. What He did for the poor and the barren, He will do for me.

10. I declare: PRAISE YE THE LORD! My mouth shall declare His goodness from this day forward.
