BASIC SCRIPTURE FOR 4TH JANUARY 2026 (KJV)

Acts 1:12-26 (King James Version):

12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.
13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.
14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.
18 Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
19 And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.
20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.
21 Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
22 Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
23 And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

Prayer Points for 4th January 2026

1. Prayer for a Return to the Place of Prayer:
   “Lord, like the disciples, I return to my ‘upper room’—my dedicated place of prayer and seeking Your face. As I begin this year, establish my prayer life as my first response, not my last resort. Help me to abide consistently in Your presence.” (Acts 1:12-14)

2. Prayer for Unity and Accord in the Spirit:
   “Father, unite my heart with other believers. Let there be one accord in our prayers, purposes, and pursuits. Where there is division, bring reconciliation. Where there is isolation, bring me into a company of faith-filled people.” (Acts 1:14)

3. Prayer for Divine Guidance in Decision-Making:
   “Thou, Lord, who knowest the hearts of all, reveal Your perfect will to me. In every choice I face this year—in family, career, and ministry—show me clearly whom or what You have chosen. Guide my steps away from transgression and into Your ordained path.” (Acts 1:24)

4. Prayer to Fill Vacant Positions and Restore Losses:
   “Just as the vacancy left by Judas was filled, I pray You would restore every loss and fill every God-ordained vacancy in my life. Restore ministries, relationships, finances, and joy that the enemy has stolen or destroyed.” (Acts 1:20, 25)

5. Prayer to Be Ordained as a Credible Witness:
   “Lord, ordain and appoint me afresh for Your service. Like Matthias, let me be a credible witness of the resurrection power of Jesus Christ in my life. Let my testimony of Your goodness be clear and effective to all around me.” (Acts 1:22, 26)

Declarations for 2026

1. I declare my life is a house of prayer. I am dedicated to seeking God first, and my upper room is active and powerful.

2. I declare I walk in unity and one accord with the body of Christ. My relationships are aligned with God’s purpose.

3. I declare God reveals His perfect will to me. I make decisions led by the Spirit, not by flesh or emotion.

4. I declare every vacant place in my life is filled by God’s divine appointment. I recover all that was lost and step into new, God-ordained roles.

5. I declare I am a chosen and ordained witness. My life testifies powerfully to the resurrection and lordship of Jesus Christ.

May God reveal His heart to you, guide your every choice, restore all your losses, and appoint you as His mighty witness.
