BASIC SCRIPTURE: ESTHER 3:1-13

ESTHER 3:1-13 (KJV)

1 After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him.

2 And all the king’s servants, that were in the king’s gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence.

3 Then the king’s servants, which were in the king’s gate, said unto Mordecai, Why transgressest thou the king’s commandment?

4 Now it came to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai’s matters would stand: for he had told them that he was a Jew.

5 And when Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath.

6 And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.

7 In the first month, that is, the month Nisan, in the twelfth year of king Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that is, the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, to the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar.

8 And Haman said unto king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of thy kingdom; and their laws are diverse from all people; neither keep they the king’s laws: therefore it is not for the king’s profit to suffer them.

9 If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring it into the king’s treasuries.

10 And the king took his ring from his hand, and gave it unto Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the Jews’ enemy.

11 And the king said unto Haman, The silver is given to thee, the people also, to do with them as it seemeth good to thee.

12 Then were the king’s scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman commanded unto the king’s lieutenants, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the king’s ring.

13 And the letters were sent by posts into all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey.

DECLARATIONS (Based on Esther 3:1-13 KJV)

(Speak these aloud in faith)

1. I declare that promotion comes from the Lord, not from man. Though Haman was promoted by the king, his seat of pride shall be overturned. I will not fear the rising of the wicked. (Esther 3:1)

2. I declare that I will not bow to Haman. I will not reverence pride, arrogance, or the spirit of the Agagite. I bow only to the living God. No earthly command shall make me compromise my worship. (Esther 3:2)

3. I declare that daily pressure and daily questioning will not move me. Like Mordecai, I hearken not to the voice of the crowd. My matters shall stand because I stand with my God and my identity as a Jew—a covenant child of Abraham. *(Esther 3:3-4)*

4. I declare that the wrath of Haman is turned back upon his own head. Every plan born of pride and revenge shall fall. The fire he kindled shall consume him. *(Esther 3:5-6)*

5. I declare that the casting of Pur—the lot, the divination, the evil timing—shall not prosper against me. The lot is cast into the lap, but the whole disposing thereof is of the Lord. God shall reverse every evil decree. (Esther 3:7; Proverbs 16:33)

6. I declare that every accusation of the enemy—that I am scattered, that my laws are diverse, that I am not profitable to the kingdom—is a lie. I am valuable to the King of Kings, and no earthly power can destroy me. (Esther 3:8)

7. I declare that the ring of authority given to Haman shall be taken from him. The same ring that sealed my destruction shall seal my deliverance. God turns the king’s heart like rivers of water. *(Esther 3:10-12)*

8. I declare that the letters of death sent by posts into every province shall not reach me. The decree of the enemy is null and void in the courts of heaven. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. (Esther 3:13; Isaiah 54:17)

9. I declare that the date of my destruction—the thirteenth day of the twelfth month—shall become my day of victory. What was meant for evil, God shall turn for good. (Esther 3:13; Genesis 50:20)

10. I declare that I am not destroyed, I am not killed, I do not perish. I am preserved for such a time as this. The spoil that was meant to be taken from me shall be taken by me. (Esther 3:13; Esther 8:11)

PRAYER POINTS

1. Pray against the spirit of Haman—the Agagite spirit of pride and destruction.

• Father, I bind and rebuke the spirit of Haman—the Agagite spirit of pride, arrogance, and ancient hatred against Your covenant people. Every Haman that has been promoted in my workplace, in my nation, in my family, or in the spiritual realm—I ask You to expose and bring him down. Let his seat above the princes be overturned. (Esther 3:1)

2. Pray for the grace to bow only to God, not to man or to evil.

• Lord, give me the courage of Mordecai. I refuse to bow to Haman. I refuse to reverence the spirit of this age, the spirit of political correctness, the spirit of intimidation, or the spirit of fear. I bow my knee only to Jesus Christ. Let no command of man make me compromise my covenant with You. (Esther 3:2)

3. Pray against daily pressure to conform and compromise.

• *Father, they spoke daily to Mordecai, but he hearkened not. Lord, when the world speaks daily to me—when my colleagues, my friends, my family pressure me to bow—give me the strength to hearken not. Let my matters stand because I stand on Your word. (Esther 3:3-4)*

4. Pray that the wrath of the enemy is turned back upon himself.

• *Lord, Haman was full of wrath because one man would not bow. That same wrath led to his own destruction. I pray that every enemy filled with wrath against me because I will not bow to their idols—let their wrath become their trap. Let the gallows they build for me be for themselves. (Esther 3:5-6; Esther 7:10)*

5. Pray against the casting of lots, divination, and evil timing against you.

• Father, they cast Pur—the lot—from month to month to find the right time to destroy the Jews. I cancel every evil lot cast against my life, my family, my ministry, and my destiny. Every divination, every horoscope, every witchcraft timing—I declare them null and void. The lot is in Your hands, Lord. (Esther 3:7; Proverbs 16:33)

6. Pray against false accusations made about God’s people.

• Lord, Haman accused the Jews saying, “Their laws are diverse from all people, neither keep they the king’s laws.” I pray against every false accusation made about me, about Your church, about Your people. When the enemy says we are not profitable, You say we are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Vindicate us, Lord. (Esther 3:8)

7. Pray that the king’s heart—the authority over you—will be turned.

• Father, King Ahasuerus gave his ring to Haman, not knowing the full truth. I pray for every authority figure over me—government leaders, bosses, principals, judges. Turn their hearts like rivers of water. Let them not be manipulated by the enemy. Let the ring of authority be taken from Haman and given to Mordecai. (Esther 3:10; Esther 8:2; Proverbs 21:1)

8. Pray against every written decree of destruction against your life.

• *Lord, the letters were written and sealed with the king’s ring. I pray against every written decree—every court order, every medical report, every legal document, every curse written down, every evil judgment—that has been issued against me. I tear them up in the name of Jesus. Let them be overturned by a higher decree. (Esther 3:12-13; Colossians 2:14)*

9. Pray for protection over the young, old, little children, and women.

• Father, Haman’s decree targeted all Jews—young and old, little children and women. I lift up the most vulnerable in Your church and in my family. Protect the children. Protect the elderly. Protect the mothers. Let no destroyer come near their dwellings. Post angels of protection at every gate. (Esther 3:13)

10. Declare that the day of intended destruction becomes your day of victory.

• Lord, the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, the month Adar, was set for our destruction. I declare that date is reversed. What the enemy meant for evil, You will turn for good. That day shall become my day of triumph, my day of deliverance, my day of spoiling the enemy. Let the Pur become the feast of Purim—the turning of sorrow into joy. (Esther 3:13; Esther 9:1; Genesis 50:20)

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

I will not bow to Haman. I will not reverence the spirit of pride, hatred, or destruction. Though they speak daily to me, I hearken not. The lot cast against me is in the Lord’s hands. Every false accusation—that I am scattered, diverse, or unprofitable—is a lie from the pit of hell. The king’s ring given to Haman shall be taken from him. The letters of death written against me are torn apart by the blood of Jesus. The thirteenth day of the twelfth month shall not be my destruction—it shall be my deliverance. I am a Jew—a covenant child of the Most High God. I am preserved for such a time as this. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. Amen.
