Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

PRAYER POINTS

Father, let the mind of Christ be in me. Let me think as He thought, and let my heart be filled with His humility.

Lord, I repent of every pride and self-exaltation in my life. Let me empty myself as Christ emptied Himself.

Father, let me take the form of a servant. Let me not seek to be served, but to serve others.

Lord, let me humble myself as Christ humbled Himself. Let me be obedient to You, even unto death.

Father, I thank You that because Christ humbled Himself, You highly exalted Him. Let me also be exalted in Your time.

Lord, I declare that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow in my life — every fear, every doubt, every enemy, every stronghold.

Father, let every tongue in my life confess that Jesus Christ is Lord — my tongue, my heart, my mind, my will.

Let This Mind Be in You (Verse 5):
Paul calls believers to have the same mind as Christ. This is not just an attitude. It is a mindset. It is a way of thinking. It is a way of living. It is a way of relating. It is a way of serving. It is a way of suffering. It is a way of submitting. It is the mind of humility. It is the mind of obedience. It is the mind of selflessness. It is the mind of sacrifice.
The Form of God (Verse 6):
Christ was in the form of God. He was equal with God. He was divine. He was eternal. He was glorious. He was majestic. He was worthy of all worship. He had every right to be served. He had every right to be exalted. He had every right to be praised. He was in the form of God.
He Made Himself of No Reputation (Verse 7):
Christ emptied Himself. The Greek word is kenosis. He laid aside His divine glory. He did not cease to be God. He set aside His privileges. He set aside His rights. He set aside His position. He made Himself of no reputation. He did not seek fame. He did not seek power. He did not seek recognition. He did not seek honour. He emptied Himself.
The Form of a Servant (Verse 7):
He took the form of a servant. Not a king. Not a conqueror. Not a celebrity. A servant. He came to serve. He came to wash feet. He came to heal the sick. He came to feed the hungry. He came to touch the leper. He came to forgive the sinner. He came to die for the ungodly. He came to serve.
The Likeness of Men (Verse 7):
He was made in the likeness of men. He became human. He took on flesh. He took on weakness. He took on limitation. He took on suffering. He took on temptation. He took on the full experience of humanity. He was like us in every way, except without sin. He was fully God and fully man.
He Humbled Himself (Verse 8):
He humbled Himself. Not just His incarnation. He humbled Himself further. He became obedient. Obedient to what? Obedient to death. Not just any death. The death of the cross. The cross was the most shameful death. It was the most painful death. It was the most humiliating death. It was reserved for the worst criminals. It was a curse. It was a scandal. It was a disgrace. But Christ embraced it. He submitted to it. He endured it. He died on the cross.
Highly Exalted (Verse 9):
Because Christ humbled Himself, God highly exalted Him. His exaltation was the result of His humiliation. Not before. Not instead of. Because of. God exalted Him to the highest place. He gave Him the name above every name. Jesus is Lord. He is Lord of all. He has all authority. He has all power. He has all glory. He has all honour. He is exalted above every name.
Every Knee Shall Bow (Verse 10-11):
At the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow. In heaven. On earth. Under the earth. Everyone will bow. Some will bow willingly. Some will bow unwillingly. Some will bow in worship. Some will bow in judgment. But every knee will bow. And every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. To the glory of God the Father. The confession will be universal. The confession will be final. The confession will be true. Jesus is Lord. He always was. He always will be.
Question for the Day:
Do you have the mind of Christ? Are you willing to empty yourself? Are you willing to take the form of a servant? Are you willing to humble yourself and obey God, even unto death? Are you willing to be exalted in God’s time and in God’s way?
