BASIC SCRIPTURE BIBLE READING FOR FEBRUARY 5TH, 2026

PROVERBS 4:1-9 (NKJV)

1 Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, And give attention to know understanding;
2 For I give you good doctrine: Do not forsake my law.
3 When I was my father’s son, Tender and the only one in the sight of my mother,
4 He also taught me, and said to me: “Let your heart retain my words; Keep my commands, and live.
5 Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.
6 Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you.
7 Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.
8 Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her.
9 She will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you.

PRAYER POINTS & DECLARATIONS

1. POSTURE OF A RECEPTIVE HEART (v1-2)

• Prayer Point: Father, I open my ears and heart to receive Your instruction today. Give me a teachable spirit and a keen attention to grasp the understanding that comes only from You. I receive Your Word as good and perfect doctrine for my life.

• Declaration: I declare that I am a willing student in God’s school of wisdom. I will not forsake His law, for it is life to my soul and health to my body.

2. CARRYING THE LEGACY OF WISDOM (v3-4)

• Prayer Point: Lord, I thank You for the spiritual fathers, mothers, and mentors You have placed in my life. I pray for the grace to retain their godly counsel in my heart. Help me to keep Your commands diligently, that I may truly live an abundant, purposeful, and preserved life.

• Declaration: I declare that I am a link in a godly legacy. I receive and I will pass on the wisdom of the Lord to the next generation.

3. THE PURSUIT AND PRIORITY OF WISDOM (v5-7)

• Prayer Point: God, ignite in me a passionate pursuit of Your wisdom above all earthly pursuits. Let me not forget or wander from Your words. I make wisdom the principal pursuit of my life. In every decision, relationship, and endeavor, grant me heavenly understanding.

• Declaration: I declare that I am actively getting wisdom and understanding. It is my chief asset, more valuable than any material gain. Wisdom preserves, guards, and keeps me on the path of life.

4. THE REWARDS OF EMBRACING WISDOM (v8-9)

• Prayer Point: I choose to highly esteem and exalt Your wisdom, Lord. I pray that as I embrace and love wisdom, it will lead to divine promotion, honor, and grace in my life. Let wisdom be my crowning glory, marking me as Yours.

• Declaration: I declare that wisdom is promoting me and bringing me to places of honor and influence. I wear an ornament of grace and a crown of glory because I am in intimate relationship with Christ, who is the Wisdom of God.
