BASIC SCRIPTURE: SUNDAY, 27TH SEPTEMBER 2026 — MATTHEW 9:27-38 (KJV)

27. And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.

28. And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.

29. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

30. And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.

31. But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.

32. As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.

33. And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.

34. But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.

35. And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

36. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

37. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

38. Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

PRAYER POINTS — SUNDAY, 27TH SEPTEMBER 2026

1. Father, give me the faith of the two blind men. Let me cry out to Jesus and not be silenced.

2. Lord, I believe that You are able to do this. Let my faith be rewarded according to Your word.

3. Father, open my eyes as You opened the eyes of the blind men. Let me see clearly Your truth and Your will.

4. Lord, let me not keep silent about Your goodness. Let me spread abroad Your fame in all the land.

5. Father, cast out every dumb spirit in my life. Let me speak boldly and clearly for You.

6. Lord, give me compassion for the multitudes. Let me see them as You see them — scattered and without a shepherd.

7. Father, send forth labourers into Your harvest. Let me be one of those labourers, ready and willing.

8. Lord, let me not be like the Pharisees who attributed Your works to the devil. Let me always give You the glory.

DECLARATIONS — SUNDAY, 27TH SEPTEMBER 2026

1. I declare that I have the faith of the two blind men. I cry out to Jesus and I am not silenced.

2. I believe that Jesus is able. My faith is rewarded according to His word.

3. My eyes are opened as the eyes of the blind men were opened. I see clearly God’s truth and His will.

4. I do not keep silent about God’s goodness. I spread abroad His fame in all the land.

5. Every dumb spirit in my life is cast out. I speak boldly and clearly for God.

6. I have compassion for the multitudes. I see them as God sees them — scattered and without a shepherd.

7. I am a labourer in God’s harvest. I am ready and willing to be sent.

8. I am not like the Pharisees who attributed God’s works to the devil. I always give God the glory.

ADDITIONAL REFLECTION — SUNDAY, 27TH SEPTEMBER 2026

Key Verse: Matthew 9:36 — “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.”

The Two Blind Men (Verses 27-30):

Two blind men followed Jesus. They cried out. “Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.” They were persistent. They were desperate. They were determined. They did not let their blindness stop them. They did not let the crowd silence them. They did not let their circumstances defeat them. They cried out to Jesus. They followed Him. They pursued Him. They would not give up. They would not be quiet. They would not be ignored. And Jesus heard them. He responded to them. He asked them a question. “Believe ye that I am able to do this?” They answered, “Yea, Lord.” They believed. They trusted. They had faith. And Jesus touched their eyes. He said, “According to your faith be it unto you.” And their eyes were opened. They were healed. They were restored. They were made whole.

The Charge and the Disobedience (Verses 30-31):

Jesus charged them strictly. “See that no man know it.” He did not want the news to spread. He did not want the crowds to swell. He did not want the attention. He did not want the fame. But they disobeyed. They spread abroad His fame in all that country. They could not keep silent. They could not contain their joy. They could not hide their testimony. They told everyone. They proclaimed everywhere. They spread the news far and wide. They disobeyed Jesus. But their disobedience spread the gospel.

The Dumb Man (Verses 32-34):

As they went out, a dumb man was brought to Jesus. He was possessed with a devil. He could not speak. He could not communicate. He could not express himself. He was bound. He was oppressed. He was tormented. And Jesus cast out the devil. The dumb man spoke. The multitudes marvelled. They said, “It was never so seen in Israel.” They were amazed. They were astonished. They were impressed. But the Pharisees were not. They said, “He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.” They attributed the work of God to the work of Satan. They rejected the truth. They denied the evidence. They blasphemed the Spirit.

The Compassion of Jesus (Verse 35-36):

Jesus went about all the cities and villages. He taught in their synagogues. He preached the gospel of the kingdom. He healed every sickness and every disease. He was active. He was busy. He was engaged. He was ministering. He was serving. And when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion. He was not indifferent. He was not distant. He was not detached. He saw them. He felt for them. He cared for them. They fainted. They were scattered abroad. They were like sheep having no shepherd. They were weary. They were lost. They were helpless. They were leaderless. They were aimless. They were confused. They were in need. And Jesus had compassion.

The Harvest and the Labourers (Verses 37-38):

Jesus said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few.” The harvest is great. It is plentiful. It is ready. It is waiting. But the labourers are few. The workers are scarce. The reapers are insufficient. The harvest is not the problem. The workers are the problem. And Jesus said, “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” Pray. Ask. Intercede. Petition. Beseech. The Lord of the harvest is the one who sends. The Lord of the harvest is the one who provides. The Lord of the harvest is the one who equips. Pray that He will send. Pray that He will thrust forth. Pray that He will raise up. Pray that He will commission. Pray for labourers.

Are you crying out to Jesus with persistent faith? Do you believe that He is able? Have you received your sight? Are you spreading abroad His fame? And do you have compassion for the multitudes who are scattered and without a shepherd?
